Born February 28, 1973 in London (Ontario, Canada). His younger brother, Brett, also became a professional hockey player, although his career was briefly interrupted due to a concussion. His father, Carl Lindros, was an accountant, but in his youth he played for the Chicago Blackhawks hockey club, and he played college football at the University of Western Ontario. Mother, Bonnie Lindros, was a nurse.
When Eric was 7 years old, he began playing in the hockey youth league in London. Soon it became known that he had outstanding abilities that had to be constantly developed. But hockey was not the center of attention of Lindros. His parents began to instill in him a love of music, and he took summer vacations from hockey. In 1983, the family moved to Toronto, and he began to play hockey at St. Michael's College.
Refused to play for the Greyhounds
At the age of fifteen, Eric Lindros entered the A-Ontario Junior Hockey League. And then he was offered to play for the famous team - “Greyhounds”. But his parents were against it, because he would have to constantly go to training, and this would negatively affect his studies.
Lidros chose a less prestigious club - Detroit Compuvare, based in Farmington, Michigan. Eric was considered the best among young hockey players.

Career in the NHL
