Biography

Philip Winchester was born March 24, 1981 in Belgrade, Montana. In the family of an American and an Englishwoman. All his childhood years passed in the same small city. His father, Jay Winchester, served as a teacher at a local university, and his mother, Barbara Winchester, worked part-time at night in an old-age charity house to support her family. Philip was not the only child in the family. He also had a younger brother named Ian. Thanks to his father, the boy showed interest in acting and with all his heart fell in love with the theater. Philip cherished the dream of becoming an actor from a very young age.

His film debut (before that, the actor starred in a small role in the series "Great Performances", 1971) came in 1998 - the film "Patriot", the main star of which was Stephen Seagal. Philip was offered a small cameo, and he readily seized on his chance. However, his true passion always lay for the theater. At the age of seventeen, immediately after graduating from high school, Philip left his father's house to make his dream a reality and become an actor in the theater. This moment was a turning point in the life of a young artist, he determined the fate of the future. Philip moved to London and successfully auditioned for a place at the prestigious London Academy, which taught music and drama. As a student, Philip got the opportunity to participate in various academic productions, among which was the production of Mikhail Afanasevich Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita, as well as to reveal his natural talent for acting.

After completing the academy, Philip decided to return to the United States, where he began to receive offers for filming in episodic roles in such popular television series as: Crime Scene: Miami (SCI), King Lear and others. 2008 brought Philip Winchester the first lead role in the television series about Robinson Crusoe. It is this role and the image of Robinson that the actor owes his subsequent success and sharply increased demand in the film industry. In 2009, he got the role in the mini-series "Alice and Wonderland" Canadian-British production. An interesting fact is that, as a teenager and at school, Philip abused alcohol and drugs. Now he completely got rid of addictions, turned to the Christian faith and became an exemplary family man. Philip married his girlfriend, who was not only his girlfriend since high school, but was the sister of his best friend. The wedding took place in 2008, and in 2015 the couple had their first daughter, who was named Charlie.
