Grabbe Ekaterina Nikolaevna was born on September 7, 1954 in the city of Moscow. Our heroine was born in the family of an outstanding Soviet film actor Nikolai Grabbe. The girl’s mother, Margarita Doktorova, was also a fairly successful theater actress.

From an early age, Catherine Grabbe firmly decided to follow in the footsteps of famous parents. The girl began her childhood dream at the end of high school. In 1975, she submitted documents to the Shchukin Theater School. She was accepted here on the first attempt, having successfully passed the entrance exams.

At the end of the prestigious educational institution, Ekaterina Grabbe received an offer to join the troupe of the Drama Theater on Taganka. Pretty quickly, the young actress won the hearts of avid theatergoers. A wide audience noted her excellent play in various productions from the repertoire of the creative site. The actress was especially remembered by the public in such performances as “Mother”, “Suicides”, “Alive”, “Boris Godunov”.

Movie debut

For her sufficiently long artistic life, our heroine managed to play in numerous theatrical productions. However, in a big movie she was lucky enough to show herself only a few times. At the dawn of her career, as a last-year student, the artist took part in the filming of the television almanac "My Friends". Then came her episodic appearance in a spy tape called "Return of the Resident." The image of Catherine in the picture was so passable that her surname was not even indicated in the credits.

The finest hour of the actress

The main success of Catherine Grabbe in the big movie was shooting in the film "Cloak of Casanova." The tape, which appeared on wide screens in 1993, talked about the intricate relationship between a fraudster named Lorenzo and the Soviet girl Chloe, who ended up in Italy as part of a government delegation.

In fact, the role in the Italian-Russian drama "Cloak of Casanova" was the only memorable appearance of Catherine Grabbe in domestic cinema. The tape won numerous awards at international film festivals. The actress herself was left without awards for participating in the film. However, its appearance on the screen for many years was deposited in the memory of moviegoers.
