This year was significant in that it was marked 100 years since the revolution took place, which changed millions of destinies. For domestic cinema, this has become a peculiar and very powerful incentive. With enviable constancy on various television channels, pictures are timed to coincide with this date. With special trepidation, the audience expected the new premiere of "Walking through the agony" - 2017. The actors and their roles in this picture are familiar to those who read the trilogy of Alexei Tolstoy. What came of it, judge for yourself.
Story line
The events in question in the series take place from 1914 to 1919. All action begins before the First World War in St. Petersburg. The Bulavins sisters - Katya and Dasha (they come from Samara) - are young and in love with the decadent poet Bessonov. They are simply fascinated by them. Katya is married to a lawyer Smokovnikov, but cheating on her husband with a poet. It is Alexey Bessonov who can change the worldview of girls, as well as their way of thinking, with words about the end of Russia.
Some time passes, and the sisters are again visited by a bright feeling of love: Katya is now in love with officer Vadim Roshchin, and Dasha is in love with the engineer of the Baltic Plant Ivan Telegin. It just so happens that this difficult time, filled with war, two revolutions and civil clashes, separates the girls and their lovers. Then they intersect and diverge several times. Telegin enters the Red Army, and the road Roshchina goes straight to the Volunteer Army.
After the war is over, the entire four are found in the capital of Soviet Russia. They listen with great pleasure to the words of Krzhizhanovsky’s historical report on the GOELRO plan.
Who is who: Bulavina sisters
Surely well-known to people of the middle and older generation is the story set out in the film “Going through agony” - 2017. Actors and roles, the plot shown on the screen — all of this together created a clear picture of almost a hundred years ago. And all this was quite real.
Catherine (actress Julia Snigir) is the eldest daughter in the Bulavins family. She married a lawyer, but did not find the expected happiness in this marriage. She is very bored, it is for this reason that she takes a rather risky act - a romantic relationship with Alexei Bessonov. Spouse Katie knows about her extra-family relationships, but prefers not to raise this topic.
Daria (actress Anna Chipovskaya) is the youngest of the sisters. She arrives in St. Petersburg from Samara to enroll in law courses. Katya invites her sister to live in her house, which is often visited by progressive-minded people. There Dasha meets Bessonov, who struck her imagination. True, a little later, after meeting with Ivan Telegin, her life undergoes changes.
Beloved men sisters
So, the film “Walking through the agony” - 2017. The actors and their roles in this picture are very bright and interesting.
Ivan Telegin - an engineer of the Baltic Fleet - was played by Leonid Bichevin, who became famous after the release of the films “Cargo 200” and “Morphine”. After Ivan began to be suspected of conspiring with the revolutionaries, he was fired from the factory. He has to leave home - on the ship. It was there that the man met Daria, whom he met a little earlier, on one of the gatherings of rebellious youth. They begin to feel sympathy for each other, but a terrible war intervenes in their lives.
Vadim Roshchin, a white guard who, after being wounded in the house of lawyer Smokovnikov, was embodied on the screen by Pavel Trubiner. The character of this famous actor fell in love with Ekaterina Bulavina (for her husband Smokovnikov) at first sight, but she did not immediately respond to his feeling. And the actor was not in the least prevented from playing this role by previous characters, not always positive.
Bessonov is shown by a poet who does not accept the royal system. He likes to shock the audience. Actually, it was with this that he attracted the attention of the sisters, who began to show attention to this young man. This hero was played by Anton Shagov, somewhat similar in this image to Blok. As a director, he was used intentionally as a prototype of the poet's beloved by many.
The new painting "Going through the agony" - 2017, the actors and their roles in which are well known to the audience, made a strong impression.
Smelling of gunpowder or love?
As it usually happens, all viewers rated this film from their point of view. Undoubtedly, women were more interested in what the romantic ups and downs were in the film “Walking through the agony” - 2017. The actors and the roles played by them in this difficult story were interesting. Actors - in terms of whether they can show the full power of suffering and experience. Roles - as a way to do this. Everything is interconnected here.

Heroes, before finding their happiness, will wander along the roads of torment and sorrow for a long time, lose and find each other. And yet, initially, Tolstoy’s novel is not only about this. The work of the great Russian writer is devoted to both the revolution and wars - the First World War and the Civil War. Everyone is waiting for the revolution at first, but it turns into pogroms, devastation, hundreds of deaths. And in wars a brother can go on a brother. The director tried to convey to the audience the idea of how terrible all this is. How can all this permanently push a person away from his dreams, desires, hopes ...
How book pages come to life
Just like the beginning of any theater at the hanger, the same is the beginning of the film - from the credits. If the film, shot 40 years ago by Vasily Ordynsky, began with an engraving depicting old Petersburg, and behind the scenes with poetry they read poetry and only then did Daria appear, then in modern cinema everything was a little different.
The camera recorded the heroes in different places - in the garden, in the park. Then the picture froze, as if turning into a book page. So began a new film - “Going through the agony” - 2017. Actors and roles performed by them give an idea of the bygone time, about the mood, feelings, aspirations and hopes of people living a hundred years ago. The authors of the new script immediately made it clear to the audience that they respect the literary source.
Truly interesting, although not similar to the classic source that the 1977 film was considered to be, the picture “Walking the Hardships” - 2017. Actors and roles, their photos from the set - all attracted the attention of viewers. Those who are younger wanted to see what kind of film adaptation came out. Those who are older tried to understand how much better or worse this film is.
The series on NTV was painstakingly worked out: the author’s text was changed a bit somewhere, somewhere shortened. Director Konstantin Khudyakov tried to bring the classics closer to our time.
