Hunting carbine - for medium and large animals

The hunting carbine as a self-loading weapon has been produced in our country since 1961. Since that time, the Izhmash association has designed and developed the famous Bear using the Dragunov sniper rifle scheme .

History of creation

The first hunting carbine had a mass with an empty magazine about three and a half kilograms, a total length of one hundred and ten centimeters with a barrel size of five hundred millimeters and a magazine capacity of three rounds.

It was produced in a limited series, mainly targeting hunter-traders, as well as the party elite. However, by the mid-seventies, the production of the Bear was discontinued.

Varieties

Again, self-loading hunting carbines with a 9x53 cartridge began to appear already from the late nineties of the last century. At the same association, Izhmash already began to produce rifled self-loading rifles from the Saiga family, made on the basis of ultra-reliable Kalashnikov assault rifles.

In the process of their creation, it was possible to successfully solve a problem that was not simple at that time: to β€œfit” a sufficiently powerful cartridge into the design scheme. The Saiga hunting rifle, with eight modifications, has increased reliability and great accuracy even in the most difficult operating conditions. It is used not only for hunting a relatively large beast, but also for convoy or security units. Its folding butt is made of high-strength polyamide with fiberglass reinforcement. A characteristic feature of some models is the possibility of a shot with the stock folded. The barrel bore with the chamber with which this hunting carbine is equipped is chrome-plated. On the left side of the receiver provides a base for mounting optics.

The Tiger hunting rifle created on the basis of the SVD is distinguished by an increased accuracy of fire. Its modifications are made under the cartridges 7.62x54R, 7.62x51 and 9.3x64. Automatic reloading in the Tigers occurs due to the powder energy of the gases leaving the barrel channel into the gas chamber, as well as due to return springs. Locking is carried out by turning the shutter around the axis. The Tiger hunting carbine has wooden barrel linings and a stock, supplemented by a rubber nape. Its open sight is a front sight adjustable in two planes and a bar for a firing range of up to three hundred meters.

Design features

All hunting carbines, the reviews of which explain their unusual popularity, consist of a barrel with a box, a bolt frame with a gas rod, a bolt, a return and trigger mechanisms, a fuse, a cover, a gas pipe, sights, a butt, forearm and a magazine.

Their automation works on the principle of removal of powder gases from the barrel channel. A large pressure force requires an increase in the area of the stops. For this purpose, the valve is designed with a closed cup and an updated ejector. At the same time, a spring-loaded striker protects the capsule from inertial tilt.

The barrel canal, which is equipped with a hunting rifle, has, as a rule, six rifled rectangular shapes with a step of two hundred and forty millimeters. The mandatory delivery set includes a ramrod, accessories in a pencil case and a nipple, while on special order it can be equipped with optics and an arm, as well as a belt and a cover.
