MODOK ("Marvel") - a fictional character from the Marvel universe, invented and painted by Stan Lee and Jack Curby. This is one of those villains who, for the destruction of enemies, prefers to use high intelligence and the results of scientific and technological progress instead of incredible strength and destructive power.
MODOK ("Marvel"): character biography
Prior to his transformation, George Tarleton was a technician in the organization AIM ("Advanced Ideas of Mechanics"), and even then he had good mental abilities. True, this was not enough for him, so the scientist constantly conducted experiments to increase his level of intelligence. This is probably why he was chosen to implement the new idea of AIM - the creation of the MODOK project (Marvel). A photo of the character is shown below.

The aim of the manual was to invent an extra-smart organism to study a strange but very powerful toy - the Space Cube. But they did not immediately realize what a cunning, insidious, ambitious and power-hungry computer they invented. MODOK (Marvel) quickly dealt with them and began to manage the organization. He turned into a villain whose primary purpose was the destruction of metal people. After all, their abilities often interfered with him on the path to world domination. And his first and main enemy was Captain America, who once decided to stand up for Shield agent Shannon Carter. After that, they fought several more times.
New enemies
MODOK (Marvel) immediately realized that one can achieve the goal only by declaring war on his most powerful opponents. He considered the Hulk as such. But it is not necessary to be a genius in order to assess the situation and understand that he cannot be defeated in an open battle of a green monster. Therefore, MODOK abducts Betty Ross (Hulk Woman) and through mutation turns her into a Harpy. But his plan failed, Bruce Banner saved and cured her in time.
Ambition constantly overwhelmed the villain, and he grabbed at any chance to prove to everyone his superiority. Therefore, when he received an invitation to participate in the “Supervillain War” organized by the Black Lama, he accepted it with pleasure. True, I could not win, the prize went to another participant.
Failure at the tournament very upset him, and then MODODK came up with, probably, the most insidious plan for its existence. He was about to launch a major terrorist attack using the new deadly virus X. Only at first he decided to check the infectious agent for the homeless. But they interfere with him again. Thing, Aquaman and Captain America disrupt the villain's plan. True, they almost die from the action of the virus.
Death
Meanwhile, dissatisfaction arises in the AIM organization due to the lack of technical progress. A group of people is trying to overthrow him, for which he hires a killer from the "Serpent Society". Spiktail performs the work, and the MODOK body returns to the organization.
Later, one of the agents uses it to destroy Iron Man. As a result, the body of MODOK is also destroyed. After that, AIM creates its female counterpart, which is called MODAM.
Resurrection
But the time of MODOK has not yet expired, and the villain is reborn. This is facilitated by a group called "Wardens". MODOK (Marvel) asks for help to regain control of AIM, and in return promises assistance in the implementation of their conquest plans. But ultimately does not fulfill the promise.
Later, when MODOK becomes a member of the Intelligentsia, several agents of this team are exposed to Cathexis rays that can transfer energy from one object to another. As a result, one of these people, Amadei Cho, gains a powerful ability to change reality. He uses this power to reverse the process and turn MODOK back into George Tarleton. The military immediately took him into custody and tried with his help to prevent Doomsday. But the guy’s brain was too damaged to remember the times when he was a mutant.
Abilities
After the mutation, MODOK (Marvel) received several useful skills. Firstly, he increased his mental abilities and memory, as a result of which he could not only solve complex arithmetic problems, but also perfectly calculate the probability of the occurrence of certain events.
Secondly, he has psionic abilities that make it possible to take control of entire groups of living beings. It can also create protective fields that withstand powerful explosions.
Thirdly, MODOK is capable of generating a powerful energy beam and teleporting thanks to technologies developed by AIM
But the mutation effect brought the villain some inconvenience. After all, his head has increased several times and now outweighs the body. Because of this, he has to wear an exoskeleton. But here there are advantages, as it is equipped with rocket launchers and other weapons.
MODOK ("Marvel"): film
Unfortunately, the hero has not yet become a character in the film. But it can be found in many animated series. Among them are “Iron Man” (1994), “Iron Man: An Adventure in Armor”, “Squad of Superheroes”, “Perfect Spider-Man”, “Avengers, the general assembly!” etc. This character is also used in several video games.
