Before you figure out where the Gryffindor’s living room is, you need to understand what it is and what Gryffindor himself is. And for this it is necessary to plunge into the magical world at least for a few minutes, which was invented by the English writer Joan Rowling, populating it not only with good and evil sorcerers, but also with unicorns, trolls, house elves, centaurs ...
Meet the magic
Today, there are few people left who at least once have not heard the names of Hogwarts, Gryffindor or the names of professors Albus Dumbledore, Severus Snegg, Minerva McGonagall. And among the huge number of students in the school of witchcraft and witchcraft, the most famous, without a doubt, was Harry Potter - the boy who survived the attack by Voldemort.
So, the Hogwarts ... A thousand years ago, four powerful wizards combined their magical art to create a school in which to teach sorcery to children with magical powers. Godric Gryffindor, Penelope Hufflepuff, Candida Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin did not have a consensus on who to enroll in school and how to conduct classes. They conferred and argued for a long time, but they did not succeed in agreeing with a single line of training. Therefore, they decided to create four completely different faculties, giving them their names. For each, those children were selected whose personal qualities each of the deans valued most.
Years passed. Now the Magic Hat selects the children: as soon as the future student puts it on her head, she proclaims which faculty it should be assigned to for the next seven years (namely, how long the study in this magic school lasts). But there were cases when the student did not agree with the opinion of the Hats and chose the faculty for himself.
And what's in the tower?
The second tallest in Hogwarts is the Gryffindor Tower. The living room and students' bedrooms are located here. Just like the astronomy tower, this building can be seen on the front side of the castle. Its windows open onto the hut of the good Hagrid and the Forbidden Forest.
Since the Gryffindor’s drawing room (the photo shows the beauty of its decoration) is located in the tower of the same name, it is possible to enter it only through the passage that the four magicians planned to place on the seventh floor of the castle, behind the portrait of the Full Lady (or she is also called the Fat Lady) in a beautiful pink silk dress. The passage itself can be opened either by the Lady herself, or by some other portrait, which on this day becomes the guard of the passage (as it was in 1993).
In the same way as for entering other living rooms, there is a special password. You can enter Gryffindor’s drawing room only by naming it correctly. The portrait will simply swing open like an ordinary door and a round passage in the wall will open. According to the rules of the school, the elders are the first to know this password, and then they inform it to students of all faculties.
Entered - and froze at the threshold ...
Now you can easily answer the question of where the Gryffindor’s drawing room is. Of course, in the Gryffindor tower! The drawing room is a rest room for students. It is a round comfortable room, which is decorated in red and gold colors (these are the main colors of Gryffindor).
Here you can see soft chairs, a huge beautiful fireplace and tables for students. The hearth is connected with the Fireplace Network, but due to the fact that the living room is an extremely public place: students are busy here, talking and fooling around until late at night, griffidors usually use owls rather than a fireplace to communicate with their family .
Magic message board
The living room also has its own bulletin board, on which weekend dates at Hogsmeet, announcements of various events are constantly posted. Students use this booth to post private messages there, for example, about recruiting Quidditch teams or exchanging cards from Chocolate Frogs.
We can only assume that all the stands located in the castle are somehow interconnected. After all, all the educational decrees issued by the interim director Dolores Umbridge, inexplicably, appeared early in the morning on the notice board in this living room. Meanwhile, she herself has never appeared here.
These strange stairs
The living room of Gryffindor is really a very beautiful and roomy room. From there, two stairs lead upstairs, one to the girls 'bedroom, and the second to the boys' bedroom. The Harry Potter book mentions that the staircase that leads to the girls' bedroom is under a special spell, most likely the Gliceo. If a boy makes at least a step along it up to the bedroom, a peculiar siren sounds, and the stairs turn into a hill. Anyone who is standing on the stairs at this moment cannot resist and moves down.
If you delve into the history of Hogwarts, it becomes clear that the founders of the magic school were confident that the girls deserved immeasurably more trust than the boys. Therefore, they enchanted their stairs, and the boys were left as they are. Since then, the former can enter the boys' rooms without any obstacles, for example, as Hermione has always done, and the boys cannot.
Each bedroom is a circular room in which all the beds for students are located under the canopies. There are fourteen such bedrooms in total: for each course there is one bedroom for girls and one for boys. The windows overlook the neighborhood of Hogwarts.
Great place for the holidays
Almost constantly, the Gryffindors in the living room celebrate some important event for them. According to the plot of this story, the victory of the faculty team in Quidditch was celebrated there. Also congratulated on winning the first test in the Tournament of Three Wizards of the boy who survived. Yes, it was Harry Potter. The living room of Gryffindor also accommodated everyone who wanted to see how the launch of the magical fireworks invented by Fred and George Weasley went .

For students, this living room is expensive and as a place where important and significant events took place in their lives. For example, it was here that Harry made his first kiss with Ginny Weasley, the sister of his friend Ron, and the whole faculty saw it. Ron himself, in turn, also, in front of everyone, kissed Lavender Brown. Thanks to the fireplace located in this room, Harry's godfather - Sirius Black - was able to communicate with Potter and his friends, giving them useful advice. The Weasley twins could advertise their products here, they sold it. All this was even before they had their own store.
And in conclusion ...
Now that we already know where the Gryffindor’s drawing room is located, how you can get into it and what’s going on in it, a few words can be said about the students of this faculty. Only brave guys came here, because its founder, Godric Gryffindor, wanted it so. The head of the faculty is the dean - a smart, strict and very kind professor Minerva McGonagall. Despite the apparent severity, she is a very fair sorceress. It was she who was with Professor Dumbledore when Hagrid brought little Harry (after the death of his parents) to his uncle and aunt.
The ghost of the faculty is Almost Headless Nick, who can both scare strangers and help Gryffindors. There are two magical items associated with the founder of the faculty - the Distributing hat (which was mentioned earlier) and the Gryffindor sword (it was he who helped Harry defeat the basilisk).
One cannot fail to mention one more thing. Since the book was very popular, the quest "Gryffindor's Living Room" was invented - a game created based on books about a young wizard. It should defeat the Death Eaters and, using the weapons that Godric himself created, save the Hogwarts from destruction. Different people can participate in it, but for players aged 8 to 14 this is allowed exclusively with adults. And everything must be done in one hour.
