The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation is a state body that has established a large number of departmental awards. In what list are they represented? What regulations govern their award?
Emergencies Ministry Awards: Governing Law
Which awards of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia are presented to citizens is determined by Order of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation No. 620, issued on December 6, 2010. The list of these awards is defined in Appendix No. 1 to this source of law. They are presented in the following categories:
- medals EMERCOM of Russia;
- marks of Excellence;
- commemorative medals;
- badges.
In total, the list defined by Order No. 620 includes 34 relevant awards. In separate appendices to this regulatory act, their images and descriptions are given. Appendix No. 2 defines the rules in accordance with which awarding, delivery, and storage of signs and medals from the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation are carried out.

Let us consider what basic descriptions departmental awards of the Russian Emergencies Ministry have based on the provisions of Order No. 620.
Departmental Awards: Cross "For Valor"
This award belongs to the insignia. It has the shape of a cross and also contains oval rays, the diameter of which is 42 mm. On the outside of the cross are convex sides that have a golden color. In this case, the rays are covered with a layer of white enamel. Also considered the insignia includes an invoice medallion, as well as the inscription: "For valor", "Do it all and save."
It is worth noting that Order No. 620 does not share the awards of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in importance. However, the Cross “For Valor” is traditionally considered the most significant departmental award.
Insignia "For Service in Aviation"
Another insignia, the delivery of which is regulated by Order No. 620, is the “For Service in Aviation” sign. It is made in the shape of an equilateral cross that has expanding ends. At the same time, between the rays of the cross there are strals. In its central part there is a round medallion with a small girdle. It is also framed by a laurel branch. The medallion also depicts the globe, and on it - soaring wings, as well as a small emblem of the department.
In the largest number of awards EMERCOM of Russia are represented by medals. Consider their basic descriptions.
Medal "For Distinction in Emergencies"
This medal has the shape of a circle with a convex side painted in silver. Its diameter is 32 mm. It can be noted that all the medals that will be considered further are round, have convex sides and a specified diameter.
The front side of the award contains an image of a cross. In its center is a small emblem of the department. The reverse side contains the inscription "EMERCOM of Russia". Directly below it, laurel branches are depicted.
Medal "For propaganda"
This award is silver. On its front side there is an image of a bell, as well as a small emblem of the department. The reverse medal, like the other awards of the EMERCOM of Russia considered above, contains an inscription with the name of the department, as well as an image of laurel branches.
"XV years of the Ministry of Emergencies"
On its front side there is a small emblem of the department, the number XV, as well as olive branches. On the flip side are the words “For Special Merits”, as well as laurel branches.
"XX years of the Ministry of Emergencies"
The anniversary departmental awards of EMERCOM of Russia also include a medal dedicated to the 20th anniversary of this state body. On its front side is the middle emblem of the department, a figured cartouche with the number XX, as well as laurel branches. On the flip side are the abbreviations GKChS - EMERCOM, as well as an indication of the period of activity of the department - from 1990 to 2010.
"XXV years of the Ministry of Emergencies"

On the reverse side - again, like other awards of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for services to the state, the medal contains the name of the department, as well as the image of the laurel branches.
Medal "For courage in a fire"
This medal has a golden color. It can be noted that all the awards discussed below are colored similarly.
On the front side there is a fireman's helmet, hatchets, as well as laurel branches. There is also an inscription corresponding to the name of the medal. On the back there are the words “EMERCOM of Russia”, under them are also the laurel branches.
Medal for mine clearance
On its front side is the figure of a soldier with a mine detector, as well as an image of a special mine clearing vehicle. There is also a laurel branch. On the back - there are inscriptions “For mine clearance”, “EMERCOM of Russia”, as well as laurel branches.
Medal "For Salvation on the Waters"

Medal "For Service"

“For a special contribution to the fire safety of state facilities”
On its front side is a crimson cross. A dot is placed in its middle, three ellipses around it. A little higher is a fireman's helmet with hatchets. On the back there are the words “Special units of the Ministry of Emergencies”, above - a small emblem of the department, below - laurel branches.
“200 years of the fire brigade of Moscow”
On its front side is a fireman's helmet, a laurel wreath. On the back - a large emblem of the department, as well as olive wreaths.

Commemorative medal "Marshal Vasily Chuykov"

“75 years of Civil Defense”

This award is of steel color, round in shape, with a diameter of 32 mm. On its front side is a figured shield, the symbol of St. Petersburg is a scepter with crossed anchors. In the upper part of the shield is a fireman's helmet with hatchets, under it are the numbers 1906–2006. On the reverse side are the words “EMERCOM of Russia”.
Commemorative medal dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the publication "Civil Protection"
This award is silver, round, with a convex rim and a diameter of 32 mm. On its front side there is an image of a bell, the numbers 50 and an olive branch. On the back - the name of the journal, figures 1955 and 2005.
Breastplates are another category that is included in the Russian Emergencies Ministry awards. Their description is also given in Order No. 620.
Breastplate "Honorary Employee"
The award looks like a laurel-oak wreath, has a silver color. The image of a double-headed eagle, which has a golden color, is superimposed on it. On his chest - a figured shield with an orange field, which depicts a white star with 8 rays. In its center is a blue triangle placed in an orange circle.
"To the participant of emergency response"
This award is round and has a diameter of 35 mm. At its center is a white star with 8 rays. In its center is a blue triangle placed in an orange circle. Above is the words “To the liquidation participant”, below is the inscription “Consequences of emergencies”.
"For Merit"
This award is a white cross with a size of 45 by 45 mm. A double-headed eagle is imposed on it, which has a golden color. On his chest - a figured shield with an orange field, which depicts a white star with 8 rays. In its center is a blue triangle, which is placed in an orange circle.
“For the difference”
This award is an oval wreath, which consists of laurel branches, has a silver color. In the center is the globe with meridians and parallels, on it is a map of Russia. A little higher is the middle emblem of the department, on the right and left are ribbons of the color of the flag of the Russian Federation. Below is a golden ribbon that contains the words “For Distinction”.
"The best fireman"
This award is an orange oval shield. It is framed by a laurel wreath, which has a golden color. On the shield is the middle logo of the department. Below is an image of a fireman's helmet, as well as crossed hatchets.
"The best inspector"
This badge looks like a wreath consisting of laurel-oak branches, has a golden color. It is superimposed on the middle emblem of the department, the helmet of a fireman, a golden ribbon, which contains the words "The best inspector of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia."
"Veteran of the Ministry of Emergencies"
This award looks like a white figured shield. On it is the middle emblem of the department, which depicts a double-headed eagle. On his chest is a white star with 8 rays. In its center is a blue triangle, which is placed in an orange circle.
Veteran Aviation
This award looks like a silver rectangle, has convex sides. On its front side is the emblem of the aviation department, which looks like a globe. Against it is a small emblem of the department, around it are wings having a golden color, as well as an image of a rainbow in the colors of Russian moisture. Above is the silhouette of an airplane that flies in the air. On the back there is an inscription corresponding to the name of the award, below is an olive branch, as well as a propeller.
"Excellent rescue teams"
This award looks like an oval shield, has an orange color. Framed with a laurel wreath, which has a golden color. In the middle of the shield is a small emblem of the department.
“Great fireman”
The award looks like an oval-shaped shield that has an orange color. Framed with a golden laurel wreath. In the upper area of ​​the shield - a small emblem of the department, in the bottom - a helmet of a fireman and hatchets.
"Excellent gims"
This award looks like a wreath consisting of laurel-oak branches with a golden color. A silver-colored anchor is laid on it, in its center is a small emblem of the department.
“Aviation Excellence”
This award looks like an eight-pointed star, has a silver shape. Between the ends of the star are silver rays. On the front side is the globe, against its background is a small emblem of the department, around it are golden wings, as well as the image of the flag of Russia. On the back there is the inscription “Excellent worker of aviation of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia”, below is an olive branch, as well as a propeller.
These are the main awards of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. By importance, they are not officially divided. Owning any of them is an honor.
It can be noted that the legislation of the Russian Federation does not directly stipulate that for awards of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, privileges in any varieties can be assigned to recipients of the corresponding medals or signs. But their presence can be taken into account when determining other privileges guaranteed by the state - for example, the status of “Veteran of Labor”.
