Founded in 1939, high school 39 Yekaterinburg for more than seventy years of its existence knew five different statuses. And under any name, it evoked love and pride among the inhabitants of the city, since it was famous for the quality of education and versatile participation in public life.
Short story
The opening of gymnasium No. 39 in Yekaterinburg was quite an ordinary occurrence, in those days schools opened everywhere and in huge numbers. Until 1953, it existed as a seven-year secondary school, and in the next ten years it was an ordinary ten-year school. Only in 1965 the school received specialization and within its walls the children began to study French in depth.
In 1998, this educational institution became known as the French Gymnasium. From 2003 to this day, it bears a very similar name to all other gymnasiums: MBOU Gymnasium No. 39. Yekaterinburg perfectly remembers the wonderful teachers and directors who worked here.
Directors
The teacher of mathematics was the first director - Vasily Vasilievich Ivanov, thanks to whom the school received all the books, all the equipment. A lot of the library has been preserved to this day. The second director, Augusta Timofeevna Gushchina, tried to give a linguistic orientation to gymnasium No. 39 of Yekaterinburg: back in the forties and fifties, some lessons were taught in English. There were many different circles that children attended with pleasure.
In 1958, the teacher of history, Valentin Lvovich Aksyonov, became the director, and in 1963, the new director Alexandra Ivanovna Stupak made the school specialized and French. The future gymnasium No. 39 in Yekaterinburg became the leading base for teaching practice, there were held reporting and open lessons of city and regional significance. The French language and its teaching reached such a high level in the school that this fact was covered by the French press, and journalist Martin Mano visited the school. From that moment, gymnasium No. 39 of Yekaterinburg receives press praise, and today a great many have accumulated them.
"French school"
Years passed, the school became more and more famous and prestigious, and the building, accordingly, was dilapidated. The director of the school, and not the gymnasium No. 39 of Yekaterinburg, Zinaida Fedorovna Deberdeeva, had to deal with the overhaul in the seventies. She was also remembered for the fact that it was with her that a wonderful young team was formed, and the teaching staff was excellently trained and highly professional.
After Zinaida Fyodorovna, the director's chair was taken by Galina Illarionovna Pospelova, who established close contacts with France, and organized the first trips to Paris for teachers and schoolchildren. Teachers began training there. And the school itself became an embassy - in 1996, it hosted the French ambassador Du Jourget. The school has always been in good standing, and now even the future gymnasium No. 39 of Yekaterinburg has begun to conduct regional and city seminars for subject teachers. Reviews also mention these events.
Gymnasium!
In 1995, the director was Natalia Nikolaevna Stikhina, at which the school acquired its current status. Now it was gymnasium number 39! Yekaterinburg was rejoicing. In addition to the excellent teaching of the French language, training in other subjects began to approach the highest level. A remarkably equipped computer class appeared, a music department was opened, and exclusively interesting special courses began to be read on the literature and history of France. Introduced many new disciplines, such as business French and etiquette.
Departments of foreign languages, elementary education, natural sciences, physical and mathematical, humanitarian disciplines were formed in the disciplines. However, a huge number of difficulties are described in the reviews of those years. The building was completely collapsing, one of the schoolchildren wrote that the roof had collapsed and the pigeons were flying around the classrooms. The dining room is small, the gym does not correspond to today. And the overhaul was already a very, very long time ... I had to endure, and for a very long time the new building gymnasium No. 39 of Yekaterinburg was waiting. It appeared only in 2016. And then it’s not quite mine.
Dolgostroy
The reconstruction of the building of gymnasium No. 39 of Yekaterinburg, it was decided to start back in 2014. By that time, its walls marked the seventy-fifth anniversary, and legends circulated about their condition in the city. Designers suggested that this building simply be demolished, because it does not meet the modern requirements for children's educational institutions. Already prepared a draft of a new modern complex of 16,000 square meters and four floors. Previously, only about four hundred children studied there, according to the 2014 project, it was calculated for 550. Today, more than a thousand students come to the solemn meeting on September 1. The educational institution is specific, therefore, the project included language classes for several groups.
Then this idea was slightly changed, having decided not to create a separate gymnasium No. 39, but a whole educational complex. Moreover, the secondary school number 18 was being built in the neighborhood (it is still not very clear whether it will open the doors to its students this September 2017). And within the framework of this complex there will be an abundance of classrooms, and game rooms, and premises for extended-day groups, and offices of a speech therapist and psychologist, and workshops, and sports units, and linguistic computer laboratories, and much, much more. The school building number 18, as it became clear now, in 2016 took the gymnasium number 39 of Yekaterinburg.
Complete overhaul
And two educational institutions were to open nearby. The second is being completed. To build a new one is much more practical and cheaper than to restore an old building. The project was good because the school and gymnasium could share a common sports complex. At school No. 18, the orientation is physical and mathematical, in the gymnasium - humanitarian. All this will contribute to the fact that the educational services of this complex will fully cover the demand for them in the whole region. This is not just a complex conceived - a large educational cluster.
However, money, as always, was not enough, and therefore the construction was delayed. The delivery of gymnasium No. 39 of Yekaterinburg was planned in 2015, but the opening of a new building was postponed until 2016. The school was supposed to recruit students for the 2017-2018 academic year. The reviews are full of questions since the recording has not yet begun. Meanwhile, there was a review that the city administration arranges in the summer for all educational institutions under construction. But the situation has not yet cleared up.
Teachers
Gymnasium No. 39 with teachers was almost always lucky. By 2010, more than fifty people were employed, among whom it was often possible to meet graduates of past years. An experienced teacher and a beginner in constant succession, patronage and just helping young colleagues - all this in the team is a tradition. Here, many teachers have the highest category, and there is practically no staff turnover.
Hence the very high quality of training. The feedback from the graduates is overwhelmed with gratitude: the Unified State Examination pass all with high scores, almost all of them graduate from universities. And the school library in terms of fund quality can be compared with many universities. There are twelve thousand copies of textbooks only, eight thousand - the main book fund, four and a half thousand books in foreign languages. There is a media library, periodicals and electronic courses.
Library work
The work of the librarian "French Gymnasium No. 39" of Yekaterinburg is considered fundamental to the comprehensive development of students and to help teachers in preparing for lessons. Here they are engaged not only in bibliography, information activity, perhaps, even dominates, as required today. This applies to the search and selection of all information for lessons, for a variety of extracurricular activities. Children are also meticulously interviewed with books of choice.
That is why graduates are perfectly able to work with reference books, they can learn. This is also helped by the reviews prepared for teachers and students with information about the latest in methodological, scientific and fiction. We can say that the library took upon itself the provision of the entire educational process. The reading room is never empty. Book exhibitions on a variety of topics are held periodically.
Equipment
School-gymnasium No. 39 with the receipt of a new building practically does not know anything shortage. Perhaps that is why in the same 2016, the French Gymnasium was included in the list of the best schools in the country. Only seven schools of the region were able to get into the TOP-500. The new building brought a new quality of education.
Now the students have 32 educationally equipped classrooms, four technology classrooms, the quality of the library has already been said. Now there are as many as two sports halls, plus a gym, outdoor sports fields and a football field. The dining room can simultaneously feed 275 people. Learn - I do not want! No, the students want to learn and do it with pleasure.
One international project
Gymnasium No. 39 of Yekaterinburg has many joint projects with foreign educational institutions, but it will be one of the most significant. It covers the study of industry in the regions of France and the Middle Urals. Work has been ongoing since 1999, when the inspector of the Academy of Education and historian-geographer Gracia Dorel-Ferret proposed to the French Gymnasium cooperation on the development of this subject. So, in addition to their native land, schoolchildren are also studying the province of Champagne-Ardenne. Both here and here, the region under study has a historically well-developed industry, and schoolchildren willingly joined in independent research of local lore studies.
We worked in the following areas: visiting industrial industrial plants that are still functioning, studying the history of those that were stopped for well-known reasons. Students implement the acquired knowledge in projects directly at the lessons of a wide variety of subjects. And for this they process and process the collected materials. When the projects are implemented at home and approved, an exchange of materials begins with the French side. Then the final event is held - already jointly.
results
As a result of long work, a trip to France took place, where almost thirty people submitted their work to French peers. Then a return visit took place. All the materials were translated into French by the children and voiced - even if the project would be started just for the sake of it, already the achievement would be remarkable. This entire project is an interesting, useful and imitative occupation for the younger generation. And this is not the only, not even the main thing. Children became familiar with the history of their own country - this is what is most valuable.
In addition to studying the history of the industrial Urals, gymnasium students showed the French the performance of their own production - Pushkin's "Young Lady Peasant" in French. Students of the Lyceum François I from the city of Vitry-le-François were delighted. I also really liked the creative work and the video created on an industrial theme. After that, the friendship between the two educational institutions has strengthened so much that mutual visits are repeated almost every year.
