Leonid Filatov - biography, filmography and works

The life of this actor was bright, like a meteor’s flight, and, unfortunately, almost as short. He was immediately remembered by Soviet moviegoers of the eighties: swift, lean, with a piercing gaze and expressive predatory face. After the “Crew”, another name appeared in the short list of domestic sex symbols - Leonid Filatov. His filmography at that time already totaled half a dozen works, but after the first Soviet catastrophe film, bright, with an unreal plot, but quite lively characters, the artist became famous. Nevertheless, work in real art was ahead.

Leonid Filatov

Kazan-Ashgabat

The boy, who was born in Kazan in 1946, had happiness, rare in the post-war years - a front-line father. His mother’s maiden name was the same as his father’s, they are both Filatovs. This coincidence is simply explained: during the war, the girls corresponded with unfamiliar fighters of the Red Army, and when the “sponsored” people were distributed in the labor collective, she chose her namesake. After the Victory, the young people met in person and liked each other, as a result of which their son, Filatov Leonid, was born. The biography of the future actor is associated with two cities: Kazan, where he was born, and Ashgabat, where he spent almost all his early childhood. Seven years later, the family, unfortunately, broke up, my mother took Lenya to Penza, but later the young man returned to Ashgabat. At the age of fifteen, he showed his literary talent by writing a fable published in the Komsomolets of Turkmenistan. The fee was small, but it was enough for modest gifts to relatives, a few tickets to the theater and cinema, and even some amount remained that the young man proudly gave to his grandmother for small expenses.

Propensity for art. To which?

Leonid had an interest in art, as they say, in blood. Later, in his mature years, he said that he did not dream of being an actor, he simply became one, because he did not see other ways to prove himself. Filatov also did not see himself as a professional writer, as well as a director. Something in his life did not come true, perhaps something unique that was not there before. At the same time, in all forms, he managed to do something outstanding, showing outstanding talent. In the meantime, there was a search. Of particular interest was everything related to cinema (especially French), but theater and literature were not alien to him.

Admission to the "Pike"

After high school in 1965, Leonid Filatov went to Moscow, intending to enter the VGIK to become a director. This plan did not work out, to participate in the competition it was necessary to have an explication and a layout, and the applicant did not know about it (it is possible that at that moment he did not even know what it was). In addition, the deadline for submitting documents was over, and I had to go to the "Pike" (school named after Shchukin), which was also not easy, but was crowned with success. The course was taught by L.N. Shikhmatova and V.K.

Student pranks ...

Student life seemed a carefree adventure, roommate in the hostel Vova Kachan turned out to be a talented musician, and friends indulged in composing funny hooligan songs, very popular among friends (about an orange cat, for example, or drunk gypsies). However, there were other pranks that seemed harmless, but one of them was not without consequences. Friends tied the door handles, located on opposite sides of the corridor on the female floor of the hostel (they, of course, opened inside the rooms), and then knocked on them. A terrible screech rose to the pleasure of the pranksters, and it would have worked out if it had not been for the fact that one of the students who had undergone a draw turned out to be a foreigner (from Bulgaria), who was also in a position called for some reason “interesting”. Someone "stukanul", as a result, listeners Boris Galkin, Vladimir Kachan and Leonid Filatov lost their cheap housing. They had to rent an apartment on Herzen, it was expensive, but no one could stop them here.

... and talented pranks

There were pranks in which the talent of a writer was guessed. Rector Boris Zakhava himself believed that the play presented to him by the students was written by Arthur Miller, and even approved their good choice. When it turned out that this was not true, and the author was Leonid Filatov, he could not hide his grievances for having been so cleverly conducted. In general, to sign their works with exotic names (La Bish, Cesare Javatini and others) was characteristic of a young actor trying a pen. The atmosphere of creative freedom that reigned in the school was in perfect harmony with the internal state of the student, he could easily skip an uninteresting lecture, preferring to attend some famous closed film screening or exhibition.

Theatre

1969 year. There is a "second call" to the famous Tagana troupe five years after the creation of the theater. Lyubimov, whom almost all of the Soviet intelligentsia considers a genius, wants to replenish the acting team. As a result, Dykhovichny Ivan, Shapovalov Vitaly, Galkin Boris, Sayko Nataliya, Porokhovshchikov Alexander and Filatov Leonid fall into the troupe. The biography of these artists is now forever connected with the cult theater on the Taganka.

Filatov and Raikin

Just then a very tempting offer came from Leningrad. Konstantin Raikin, also a student at the Shchukin School, showed his famous father a play - a thesis written by Filatov, and she made an impression. Arkady Isaakovich often lacked creative staff, he needed talented texts, and during this period Roman Kartsev, Viktor Ilchenko and Mikhail Zhvanetsky were going to leave him , dissatisfied with the working conditions, so he was going to invite Leonid Filatov to his theater. Despite the obvious attractiveness of the proposal and the presence of Lev Kassil at the meeting, the classic of Soviet satire was refused. The main role in the play "What to do?" Filatov was more interested than the living space in Leningrad and many other benefits promised by Raikin.

School of humanity

The biography of Leonid Filatov was rich in meetings with interesting people. On Taganka he met Vysotsky, Schnittke, Okudzhava, Parajanov, Akhmadullina and many others, which became moral guidelines for millions of Soviet citizens. The friendship of talents spurred creativity, the best human qualities, such as civic courage and inner freedom, were manifested here, and betrayal and cowardice were openly despised. The actor Leonid Filatov learned to feel sorry for, ability to forgive in this wonderful theater, which became for him a kind of university of true nobility and, of course, acting.

Wives

Lydia Savchenko, a colleague in the creative workshop, became the first wife of the actor. In the late seventies, Leonid Filatov passionately fell in love with Nina Shatskaya, then the wife of Zolotukhin. They resisted this feeling for a long time, not wanting to hurt their spouses, but in the end love took its toll. After the divorces, they started their own family in 1982. Over the years, Shatskaya completely refuted the opinion of beautiful actresses as being eccentric and windy creatures: having endured many difficulties, she remained faithful to her chosen one in the most tragic moments of her life.

Leonid Filatov Theater

Kinoroli

Like in the “Carriage”, where Mitt was going to invite Dahl to the role of the hero-lover, Leonid Filatov was not supposed to be removed to the “Chosen” by the original plan. These films cannot be called the best works of the actor, but it was thanks to them that he became known to the mass audience. The first truly creative success in cinema was the role of a theater director in Success. The theme turned out to be close to both the leading actor and the entire crew consisting of actors from the Russian theater school. This was followed by interesting work in other wonderful paintings. The characters were not always positive, but few could give their antiheroes as much charm as Leonid Filatov. The filmography of the artist is such that by its lines you can study the annals of the era of late socialism. “Rooks”, “City of Zero”, “Forgotten melody for flute” and many other paintings came with extraordinary success in the cinemas of a huge country, and today, starting to watch any of these masterpieces, it is difficult to take your eyes off the TV screen.

Taganka hooligan

From 1985 to 1987, Leonid Filatov served in the "Contemporary" by Galina Volchek. Yuri Lyubimov had a conflict with the authorities, he was deprived of Soviet citizenship, Efros was appointed director of the Taganka Theater, whom the troupe did not like, it is quite possible that it is undeserved. The conflict between the team and the leader was extremely aggressive in nature, and Filatov took part in it, although not as actively as many other actors. Nevertheless, he left the theater. When Lyubimov returned, Efros had already died, and Filatov was the only one who repented of the persecution of this very good person. Then the theater split again, he was offered to lead the "troupe in exile", called the "Commonwealth of Taganka Actors", but the actor refused.

A fairy tale is a lie, but a hint in it ...

"The tale of Fedot the Sagittarius, a daring young man," the people literally pulled into quotes immediately after its publication in "Youth". It’s biting, capacious, expressive, funny and always topical - this is how one can determine the merits of this literary work of Leonid Filatov. “It turns out that I have all the politics in the country”, “Tea is not chemistry, natural gifts of tea ...”, “I smear a sandwich in the morning ...” and many other lines of this immortal poem have forever become proverbs and proverbs, enriching our Russian language. Many poems belong to Per Filatov, some of them in the author's performance are known for television programs. In 1999, the wonderful book “Leonid Filatov Theater” was published, which included all the most significant of his writing: plays, parodies, lyrics, and of course, “Fedot”.

Leonid Filatov

Cheer up without me, more often water ficus ...

Already in the eighties, the actor’s health was poor. Heart problems, high blood pressure and other troubles caused the desire to do as much as possible, and therefore, even more merciless attitude to yourself. Rescuing the actor from hypertension, doctors prescribed a medicine that adversely affects the kidneys, which in 1999 had to be removed. A stroke was carried on his feet.

Leonid Filatov made the last feat, he created a series of television programs “To Remember”, dedicated to the departed actors. Their fate was tragic, almost everything. Talking to them about them was difficult. And in the moral sense, and in the physical too.

After a kidney transplant operation, any infection or a cold threatened the worst disaster. In 2003, the day came when it happened.

This person cannot be forgotten. These must be remembered.
