What threatens to exit into the oncoming lane

Quite a long time operating the car and not meeting with the traffic police, a sense of responsibility is dulled. We break the rules, allow access to the oncoming lane, and remain unpunished. And for such a violation, the Code of the Russian Federation provides for an administrative penalty in the form of deprivation of a driver’s rights for a period of four to six months.

A case involving such a violation is usually adjudicated in a magistrate's court based on existing traffic rules and territorial jurisdiction.

Departure into the oncoming lane is usually associated with overtaking. Someone does not want to move slowly, being in a congestion, someone is in a hurry, and someone just ignores everyone in front.

In addition to these situations, there are those that are arranged by the traffic police intentionally. Thus, they replenish their budget. For example, a traffic policeman places an obstacle on the sidewalk so that it protrudes onto the roadway. The driver, moving, notices him and, trying not to hurt or damage his car, a pair of wheels catches a solid line. So much for the oncoming lane. Another example. Ahead is a long stretch of road that goes uphill. Traffic police officers are launching a tractor-type transport. That is a slow-moving. A car moving behind him soon gets bored of crawling along the highway with a maximum speed not exceeding the speed of the cyclist. He makes an attempt to overtake, connected with a collision on a double solid line. And ahead of him, "hunters in uniform" are waiting for him. Here, you are guaranteed deprivation of rights for going to the oncoming lane.

Of course, it is not always necessary to blame the traffic police, you just do not break the rules and do not succumb to provocations.

There are controversial situations when you exit into the oncoming lane at a bend in the permitted direction. Here you can also be charged with occupying the oncoming lane. How legal is this, and why does this happen?

When a maneuver takes place, the trajectory of the movement may not always be correct. Here you can blame the driver, and road services, marking. By turning, the negligent driver cuts off the corners, thereby running into a solid line, or generally moving along the oncoming lane. There are such departures from the yards, where there is even a marking that you cannot help but run into if you wish. Because the exit from the secondary road is located at an angle of 90 degrees, and there is not enough room for maneuver. So you have to run into a solid line.

Any exit to the oncoming lane must be punished by deprivation of rights for a period of four to six months. This also applies when making a left turn. Turning to the right, usually, it is problematic to catch the oncoming lane - it is far away.

There is another controversial situation associated with the intersection of the center line. For example, you are moving along a winding road, where at its beginning there is a sign - overtaking is prohibited. Follow the sign until you see a long and straight stretch of road ahead. The solid line becomes dashed. Everything, you can safely go to overtake. But it was not there. You are stopped by a traffic police officer - the traffic police and charged, which involves going to the oncoming lane when overtaking.

The fact is that the sign prohibiting overtaking is valid until the next intersection. Then it is not clear why a dashed line is drawn? Or is it again the tricks of the police?

However, these are isolated cases. They are not so common.

In some cases, a court of peace canceled a decision to deprive a driver of his rights. For example, the driver was not properly informed - the summons was brought a day later, and the case was considered in his absence. Or for a protocol drawn up by a traffic police officer with violations. In this case, the driver is also exempted from administrative responsibility. However, you should not rely on a favorable set of circumstances, you just need to try not to break the rules, including those relating to going to the oncoming traffic. After all, sometimes not only the fate of rights depends on this, but also a lifetime ...
