In 2007, the hilarious comedy “Blades of Glory: Stars on Ice” was released, the audience really liked it and earned almost three times more money at the box office than they spent on its shooting. Watching the attempts of the main characters to win Olympic gold, many viewers could not help feeling that the face of one of the main characters was familiar, but it was hard to remember where they had seen him before. This familiar stranger was John Header, who at that time had already starred in several films in secondary roles, but was able to attract attention due to his unusual memorable appearance.
early years
John was born (full name - Jonathan) back in 1977 in the American city of Fort Collins in the family of an American of Swedish descent Dr. James Header and his wife Helen. The guy’s parents were Mormons, so in addition to the future celebrity, the family had five more children. From childhood, John was fond of swimming and dramatic art. Therefore, after graduation, he entered Brigham Young University and began to study film production there.
Since the late nineties were in the yard and the computer animation industry began to develop rapidly, Header decided to change his specialization and soon moved to another faculty - he began to study animation.
The first work in the cinema
While still at university, John decided to try himself as an actor. To do this, he, along with his brothers, made the film “Funky Town”. Unfortunately, this project was not successful and did not go on hire, but Jonathan first tried himself as an actor in it.
A few years later, one of his friends at the university suggested the future star to star in his short film about a strange senior high school student. Students liked Brigami Young very much and also won several prizes at local competitions. Encouraged by this success, the friends decided to rework the script and make a feature film based on it. As a result, in 2004, “Napoleon Dynamite” was released with John Header in the lead role.
The budget of this project was more than modest, only four hundred thousand dollars, but the success of this picture was tremendous and brought its producers forty-five million. Unfortunately, as often happens in life, John himself earned for participating in such a successful project only a thousand dollars and not a cent more. However, the experience that he gained thanks to playing the main role helped him to decide on his future career. John Header seriously decided to become an actor.
Despite a modest income, “Napoleon Dynamite” made the aspiring actor quite famous and brought him four prestigious awards and many nominations. In addition, he began to be invited to appear in commercials. To top it off, John received a small but key role in the sweet comedy Between Heaven and Earth.
And although such partners as Mark Ruffalo and Reese Witherspoon became his partners on the set, the aspiring actor was able not to get lost on their background, but to show himself well.
It cannot be said that after the release of the tape, Header was bombarded with offers to star, but over the next two years he starred in two more films, albeit not very successful, but for one of them Jonathan was nominated for prestigious awards from the Fox channel.
"Blades of Glory: Stars on Ice"
In 2007, John finally got the lead role. He was offered to star in a comedy about skaters dreaming of winning Olympic gold, who, due to disqualification in single skating, are forced to ride together.
Few could have imagined that the acting duet (Will Feral, John Header) of the comedy would be a huge success. And although Ferrell was already quite a popular comedian at that time, starring in many successful films, his partner in skating and the set Header managed to become worthy and play his part perfectly. However, to participate in the film, the actor had to change his appearance and wear blue lenses and a white wig for the entire shooting period.
Therefore, for many viewers, his appearance seemed vaguely familiar, they were very surprised to find out who it was.
Voice acting cartoons
After the tremendous success of The Blades of Glory, John decided to slightly change his field of activity. Although he still continued to play minor roles in various films, as well as to appear in television series and actively participate in many television shows, his professional love was the voice acting of cartoons. Two years before the film about skaters, John Header tried to voice one of the characters in the animated series "Robotsyp". After that, he became the voice of Reginald Skulinski from Monster House. Soon, the actor was seriously carried away by the voice acting of various characters. His voice was spoken by a Kung Fu rabbit, Ryu and his father from The Legend of Korra, Napoleon Dynamite from a cartoon based on the film, and many others.

John Header also voiced the characters of two popular video games: Epic Mickey: Two Legends and Armicrog. I must say that although the voice acting of animated films does not bring the actor such popularity as filming in a movie, nevertheless, Jonathan is very in demand in this area, many TV shows and cartoons are released every year, the characters of which speak in a unique voice of John Header.
The personal life of the actor
Like his parents, John Header is a convinced Mormon, so he leads a healthy lifestyle, does not drink alcohol and other potent drugs. Having married quite early by American standards, at the age of twenty-five, he has been happily living with his wife Kirsten all these years, which is pleasantly different from most actors. Three wonderful children grow up in the Hydera family; they inspire their father in his work.

Although this actor is not a superstar, not many of his colleagues can boast as successful a career as John Header. Films with his participation, albeit not very many, were quite successful and secured the glory of a talented artist. The main type of his characters is the average loser, who seeks to achieve something, despite all the barriers, and in most cases still reaches the desired goal. Perhaps thanks to this image, he won such an ardent love of the audience, who see in their heroes a reflection of themselves and, inspired by his example, try to change their lives for the better.
