The once-popular UK TV series Dump was doomed to success. The main role (Simon Bellamy) went to Ivan Reon.
Natural scenery (filming took place in the southeast area of London West Ham) make it closer to the youth of Britain. The London "ghetto", easily identified by the towers of the same type that appeared more than once in the series, and Lake Southmere, fits perfectly into the plot and conveys an atmosphere of doom and rejection by society.
Charming crazy or cruel killer?
Initially, the producers of the series relied on all the characters except Simon. His image was far from the main, if not secondary, but it was Simon Bellamy who managed to draw attention to himself and become a favorite of the audience. "Dregs" have become for Ivan Reon runway in the world of cinema. Previously starring in secondary roles of second-rate television series, Ivan not only managed to get his hero out of the shadows, but he also revealed himself as a versatile and diverse actor, capable of cardinal reincarnation. An actor of one role is certainly not about him.
Later, the cruel psychopath Ramsey Bolton (“Game of Thrones”) in his performance only strengthened the opinion of critics that Ivan perfectly embodies completely opposite images and has undoubted talent.
Simon Bellamy is one of the members of the “scum” - flocks of teenagers sent by court order for community service for petty crimes: arson, driving without rights when drunk, using and selling drugs, and fighting.
Originally a shy and meek outcast of society, Simon, after falling into a storm, received the ability to become invisible, which ultimately led to degeneration into a superhero with the ability of foresight and time travel.
His story
Simon Bellamy was “accidentally” invited to the club by a school friend named Matt. Later, when it turns out that the SMS was sent incorrectly, Simon decides to take revenge. Nothing better than setting fire to Matt’s house in the head of a young hero, and he decides to take this desperate step. In a flaming fire, Simon notices a cat who personally did nothing wrong with him, and the next decision is to put out the fire. But to do this not in the usual way, but by urinating through the mailbox at the door. For this occupation he is caught by the police.
Before they charge Simon and send him to community service, law enforcement officers send the young man to a psychiatric hospital to establish his adequacy. There he meets a girl who becomes so obsessed with him that after the storm that endowed her with the gift of a chameleon, he decides (not quite successfully) to "take Simon's hands."

Previously seen only by his subscribers on the YouTube channel (he doesn’t part with his phone, which shoots everything during the first season), Simon Bellamy is struggling to be noticed by ordinary people in real life.
Teens sent to the same correctional jobs as Simon Bellamy later become his real and only friends. Among them, he meets his girlfriend, whom he is trying to protect, for which he even returns from the future. It is she who contributes to the fact that he turns from an ugly duckling into an intelligent and self-confident man.
What are the close "garbage"
The series became popular not only due to its black (sometimes English) humor, but also due to its "proximity" to the youth of Great Britain. When the scriptwriters created the story, they were inspired by the most ordinary teenagers working out their punishment in the vicinity of London. The idea to endow them with superpowers became the chip that attracted and caught the attention of viewers. As the ratings of the series later showed, not only the UK has troubled young people seeking to find their place in life.
On top of that, the shooting took place in a well-known and close to every British London, so it is not surprising that the series was successful at home.
The gold line-up held attention for three seasons: “Kopnitsa” Kelly, athlete Curtis, Tear Alisha, “soul of the company” Nathan and, of course, the gang’s brain Simon Bellamy. Quotes and jokes from the series (for example, “get ready to be stunned, go nuts and get so fucking lightly”) replenished the verbal stock of young people not only in Great Britain, but also in the whole world.
