How to reduce the likelihood of contracting HIV?

To assess the likelihood of HIV infection, it is enough to know the ways of its spread. The virus is transmitted from person to person in a few ways, so if you wish, you can easily block the road. The transmission medium is blood and semen. AIDS can be infected through any sexual intercourse. Absolutely any kind of sex without using a condom is fraught with infection if one of the partners is HIV-infected.

Until recently, there was a very high percentage of men infected with homosexuals and bisexuals. The ratio of infected women to men in the early 80s was 1:10. Today, this ratio is gradually equalizing, as more and more women become carriers of the virus.

In general, about 89% of those infected are drug addicts. Among them, AIDS is spread only among those who take drugs by injection and often use non-sterile syringes.

People with blood diseases make up about 4% of the total number of people infected. The virus gets to these people through a blood transfusion or the administration of drugs made from infected blood.

There are known cases when the transmission of HIV was facilitated by doctors using non-sterile surgical, dental or gynecological instruments. The smallest scratches leave hairdressing tools on the skin of a person, so if shaving and cutting are also done with unprocessed tools, this can also cause HIV infection.

With the increase in the number of infected women, the number of children who received this virus in the womb also increased.

Doctors rightly point out that the likelihood of contracting HIV is much less than the flu or any other acute respiratory infections. Mostly people are destroyed by their own carelessness and ignorance. If everyone knew how to get HIV and how to protect themselves from any genital infections, AIDS would never take the form of a pandemic.

Firstly, frequent changes of partners and casual relationships should be avoided, as any mistake can be fatal. This is primarily due to the activities of the so-called “Cavaliers of the Apocalypse”, who intentionally spread AIDS in revenge for their own mistake.

Secondly, you must use a condom. Although they, as recent studies have shown, do not provide one-hundred-percent protection, but they reduce the likelihood of contracting HIV by 200 times.

Thirdly, it is very useful to know the signs of this disease and consult a doctor if you suspect infection. In the first stage of AIDS, when the suppression of the immune system is just beginning, symptoms of HIV infection are rare. But there may be signs similar to those for mononuclease: enlarged lymph nodes, temperature, fatigue. It happens that a rash appears on the skin, which becomes more noticeable with time. Further growth of the lymph nodes is a symptom of the second stage of the disease. The last phase of the disease is characterized by more pronounced signs - the appearance of sores and white spots on the tongue, which are the result of a fungal infection. But the main cause of suffering for AIDS patients is often not physical, but mental pain. In modern society, these people often become outcasts. Many people constantly engage in casual sexual intercourse, not taking into account the likelihood of HIV infection even through a condom, but are afraid to live next door and work with someone with HIV.

Do not succumb to speedophobia and panic in vain. It is much better to just take care of yourself and follow all the hygienic and other rules attributed to the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.
