Becoming a young star

Valery Ivanovich was born July 17, 1939 in the capital of the USSR. In early childhood, was imbued with a love of football and began to deal with it as early as 13 years old. His first kids club was Rubber. Then, in 1953, he has a chance to break into serious football. He enters the Torpedo sports school, where after only 5 years he begins to play in the youth team. For this club, he played his entire future sports career.

He won his first major victory in 1960, becoming one of the most significant players in the championship and in the USSR cup. After 2 years, it comes to the quarter finals of the World Cup in the national team. In 1964 he reached the finals of the European Championship. For this he receives the title of one of the best football players in Europe. Also, a year later, retains this title, making the Torpedo team the champion of the country. In the course of the changes in the arrangement of players, the national team receives the position of the central defender, where he reveals his talent as much as possible.

In 1967, he reached the semi-finals of the World Cup, falling into the symbolic team of the tournament (Voronin became the only domestic player to receive such an award). In 1969, he got into a serious car accident. This event put an end to his sports career. Because of this, Valery begins to have problems with alcohol. On May 19, 1984, he died from a blow to the head. Investigators failed to find out the cause of the crime. According to one version, it was a robbery, according to another - a quarrel of drunk people.

During his short and tragic life, the star of the Soviet sport managed to find a reliable companion in life. He was not one of those who showed off their relationship with the girls. In the summer of 1968 he was in a terrible car accident. Due to the heavy workload, Valera did not have time to recover, he did not have enough time to rest. This was the cause of the accident. Falling asleep at the wheel of his car, he got under a multi-ton truck, crushing Lada. Then another four times, the car that Voronin drove turned over. The football player miraculously survived. He survived a clinical death and, in fact, returned from the next world. However, irreparable damage was caused to health. The athlete's whole face was scarred. All former beauty left him.

A few months later, Voronin appeared on the field of his native Torpedo. The football player played hard, terrible injuries made themselves felt. Valery never wore a sports uniform ever again. Later, Voronin began to have problems with alcohol. He drank a lot of alcohol and often in dysfunctional companies. That was the rest of Valery Voronin's life. Valery Voronin was one of the most titled athletes not only of the USSR, but of the whole world. Some of the awards were managed only to him. So, in 1967 he was included in the symbolic team of the world. However, his victories were not only sports. Thanks to his perseverance and diligence, he learned English and spoke it flawlessly. For this, even the Queen of Great Britain fell in love with him. She presented him with the award as the most elegant player in the European Championship. Voronin himself proudly spoke about this. The footballer also had fame among ordinary fans around the globe. During his short career, Valery managed to twice visit the ranking of the top 10 players in the world, compiled by the famous French magazine - France Football. Valery was able to achieve a lot.

In the spring of 1984, death overtook his seeker. Voronin was injured, incompatible with life. He was hit on the head with a blunt object. At the funeral in Moscow, everyone spared Voronin. Unleashed - so others thought of his death. And it really was. The last years of his life, he felt more moral pain. Not every person is able to withstand such a blow of fate. Valery Ivanovich fought with himself for a long time. He tried not to despair, to seek a new meaning in life. Often even treated for alcoholism in psychiatric hospitals. And they helped him quit a bad habit. He refreshed himself, became more cheerful, but this was still enough for a short while. Severe pain and resentment for life sat deep in the chest. Only alcohol allowed him to kill them, to forget, to get distracted, which made it worse, and in the end killed him.

Many with tears in their eyes watched as the former leader of the team went out to the stadium in slippers to watch the match. It was especially hard to see him so near and dear. So the famous Soviet athlete tragically ended his life.

Most recently was an anniversary. Valery would have turned 75 years old. They talked about him, wrote and just remembered. Despite the controversial life, he left a good memory of himself.
