Soslan Dzhanaev: an excellent Russian goalkeeper

Football player Soslan Dzhanaev is an excellent representative of the Russian goalkeeper school. He managed to play for Spartak, Rostov, and is now listed as part of Kazan Rubin. Giving out a series of nine “dry” matches, he could have made a gross mistake in the tenth, because of which more than once he became the object of annoying criticism. In fact, Ossetians are an excellent goalkeeper, playing equally well both on the goal line and on the outputs. His only problem is often psychological instability.

In the shadow of Akinfeev

Soslan Dzhanaev was born in Vladikavkaz in 1987. In childhood, he moved to Moscow with his family and became a student at CSKA football school. However, the young Ossetian had no chance to win the fight for the place of the main goalkeeper with Igor Akinfeev. At that time, a company of excellent goalkeepers came to CSKA, you can still recall Mandrykin and Gabulov, so Dzhanayev did not even play for the backup squad, remaining in a deep reserve.

To make a name for himself and gain playing practice, Soslan went to KAMAZ, who played in the First League. Here he became the first number in the gate and spent a very good season, having conceded just 17 goals in 28 games.

The leading clubs of the country drew attention to the promising goalkeeper, and Soslan accepted the invitation of the Moscow Spartak.

The main guard of the Muscovites' gate was the Croatian legionnaire Stipe Pletikosa, in 2008 Dzhanayev served as his understudy. However, in the next season, the club’s head coach Valery Karpin made a bet on the goalkeeper with a Russian passport, as the limit on legionnaires began to operate, and many preferred to put the Russians in goal so that they could let out more foreign players on the field.

From love to hate ...

2009 Soslan Dzhanaev began in the status of the main goalkeeper of Spartak. For two-thirds of the season, he acted very confidently, made incredible save the goal, practically did not make a mistake. However, in the most crucial segment of the championship, the guy began to lose his nerve. In the fall, he made two blunders in matches against Wings of the Soviets and CSKA, as a result of which the team missed points.

Spartak lost the championship, and the angry fans chose the goalkeeper as the culprit, forgetting how he confidently acted for most of the season. Nevertheless, the coach continued to believe his first number and did not succumb to the pressure of public opinion.

In 2010, Soslan Dzhanaev continued to be the main goalkeeper of the club, but again made a number of mistakes. The last straw was the match in Vladikavkaz, where he conceded five goals from the modest Alania. After that, Soslan lost the confidence of the coach and lost his place at the base.

Wanderings

In the summer of 2010, Dzhanaev was sent to rent at Terek. Here he played at a decent level, but sometimes allowed himself to make gross mistakes. Despite the fact that in the 2011/2012 season he spent 11 “dry” matches, the fans remembered more how he missed ridiculous balls, received red cards, was mistaken.

In the summer of 2012, Soslan Dzhanaev again missed five goals in Vladikavkaz, and then went to the bench. The rest of the season, he played out in Alania, acted well, but could not help the team avoid relegation from the elite division.

The season 2013/2014 was painted exclusively for black by the goalkeeper. He was returned to Spartak, but he was not allowed to play for the main team and was not even given the opportunity to play for the farm club of Muscovites - Spartak 2. At the invitation of Kurban Berdyev, he went to Rubin, but the authoritative mentor was already fired, and for the rest of the season he was already inactive in Kazan.

Rebirth

Many fans have already forgotten about the existence of Dzhanaev. He spent the season 2014/2015 in Rostov, acting as understudy Stipe Pletikosa.

However, after the departure of the Croatian goalkeeper, the coaches decided to bet on the unlucky native of Vladikavkaz.

Soslan Dzhanaev seemed to have found a second wind and worked in the goal selflessly, reflecting crazy blows and making no mistakes. Together with the team, he became the silver medalist of the national championship, and also issued a fantastic “dry” series without goals conceded, which totaled almost 900 minutes.

The next season, the goalkeeper again lost the competition for a place in the goal, so today many are interested in where Soslan Dzhanaev plays. In the summer of 2017, he moved to Rubin, however, he only held his first match for a new club in September.
