The institution works with donors, is engaged in the procurement of blood and its components, as well as the production of drugs and media based on it. The center provides the necessary materials to medical institutions throughout the country.
History
The blood transfusion center on Schukinskaya Street in Moscow is based on the basis of the blood transfusion department of hospital No. 6 of the USSR Ministry of Health. In the late 80s, the SEC was separated into a separate institution, the Center became directly subordinate to the Ministry of Health, and was later transferred to the 3rd Main Directorate.
Until the beginning of March 2000, the Blood Transfusion Center was located in the basement of an ordinary residential building. With the completion of the construction of a new production complex on Shchukinskaya Street, SPK received not only functional facilities, but also the ability to fully fulfill the tasks.
The blood center of the FMBA of Russia (Shchukinskaya St.), over the years of its existence, has been specializing in the production and supply of blood transfusion media to medical institutions of the medical profile of the Ministry of Health and RAMS. Who to be a donor
According to the law, any person who has reached the age of majority can become a donor, provided that his weight exceeds 50 kg and he has no contraindications. To participate in donor programs, a preliminary examination is required.
General indications for admission to the blood sampling procedure:

Before the start of the procedure, each donor is examined by a doctor, where the specialist gives admission or rejects the candidacy. Contraindications

Primary diagnosis

Each donor is checked on a single database, where the number of donations, the results of laboratory tests, registered cases of infectious diseases and other medical information about a particular person are noted.
At each visit, the donor fills out a questionnaire, this applies to both beginners and honorary participants in the process. The next step is to visit a transfusion specialist. The specialist collects data on the current physical condition - blood pressure, body temperature, pulse. During the appointment, the doctor answers the visitor's questions, talks about the procedure, methods of taking blood, plasma, platelets.
Then the donor goes for an express test - a few drops of blood are taken from the finger for an initial laboratory study. Based on the data received, the transfusiologist makes a decision on the admission or rejection of the candidate to donation.
The procedure for taking blood and its components
Donors admitted to the delivery of material are sent to the rest room, where they are offered cookies and sweet tea. The donor hall is located on the third floor of the Blood Center on Schukinskaya, before starting the procedure, you need to put your things in an individual locker and lock it with a key. Near the hall there is a registrar who is given a donor card, after which you can go to the donation procedure.
At the end of the process, donors return to the second floor, where in a special window they receive a certificate of blood donation and monetary compensation. If the visitor made donations free of charge, then according to the rules, the donor receives compensation in the amount of 5% of the cost of living established in Moscow (it is considered that this is compensation for one full meal).
Amount of cash reward for paid delivery of materials:
- Donors with a rare phenotype receive 8% of the established cost of living.
- A plasma donor (apheresis method) receives compensation in the amount of 15% of the cost of living.
- Platelet donor (apheresis method) - 35% of the cost of living in Moscow.
Security
The health of donors and the safety of the donation procedure are given close attention to all FMBA structures at Schukinskaya. The blood center regularly checks the health of regular participants in the donor movement. The range of diagnostic procedures includes passing tests, examining the respiratory and chest organs (fluorography, fluoroscopy), ECG and other methods of monitoring the state of health. During the donation procedure, the center staff uses only disposable instruments.
Plasma and platelet collection takes place on special equipment, where the human factor and intervention are minimized. Before the start of the session, all rooms where the procedure will take place are examined by an authorized employee. The movement of staff and visitors in the donor room is possible only in disposable shoe covers.
