German serial killer Fritz Haarmann: biography, crimes, special features

His unprecedented atrocities inflicted fear and horror on others. The fact that this man from German Hanover, after committing the murders, drank the blood of his victims and processed their bodies into sausage suggests that he has absolutely no place in society. The serial killer Fritz Haarmann was a real fanatic and murderer. He was nicknamed the "Hanoverian vampire" and the "Hanoverian butcher." Naturally, we cannot but be interested in the biography of Fritz Haarmann (the German sadist) and the motives of his behavior, which can only be called deviation. So, what is known about the monster from Germany, who, with particular cruelty and composure, took his life?

Curriculum Vitae

Friedrich Fritz Haarmann is a native of the German city of Hanover. He was born on October 25, 1879. His father worked as a simple fireman of a steam locomotive. With a high degree of probability it can be argued that the young Fritz inherited such qualities as short temper, secrecy and narrow-mindedness precisely from his parent.

He did not like and was even afraid of his father, but was forced to obey him, because he talked to him from a position of strength. The boy vented his dissatisfaction and irritability with the behavior of the parent on those who were weaker and younger. Sometimes Fritz threw out his anger at animals. Naturally, such an antisocial behavior of a teenager could not but fall into the field of vision of the police, who once warned the bully that if his behavior does not change, then he has every chance of going to jail. Realizing this, Fritz's father decided to send the young man to an educational institution with a military bias. In the non-commissioned officer school, the future serial killer did not demonstrate any diligence in his studies, although he did not violate discipline.

Conflict with father

Some time after the end of the above educational institution, the young man is placed in the Hildsheim psychiatric hospital. For what? For molesting minors. Experts have concluded that Haarmann Fritz cannot report on his actions. Moreover, in his behavior they did not see any violence and ferocity, so the young man was able to count on a "sparing" mode of stay in a medical facility.

But then the bully escapes from the "psychiatric hospital" and goes to Switzerland, where he is engaged in vagrancy and petty hooliganism. Seeing that he has become the subject of close attention of law enforcement officers, Fritz goes to his native Hanover. However, his parent was not enthusiastic about the fact that his prodigal son returned home. A quarrel broke out between father and son, and the young man left his native penates. He again began to lead the lifestyle he had chosen upon arrival in Switzerland.

After some time, Fritz decides to return to the sun. He was assigned to the tenth ranger battalion, stationed in the province of Alsace.

Own business

In 1918, a young man was discharged from the army. Over the years of service, he earned a certain part of the money, which on a citizen was very useful to him. Future serial killer Fritz Haarmann tries his hand at the field of entrepreneurship and opens a pastry shop where customers are offered not only buns and pastries, but also meat products, which at that time were a real delicacy for many.

The beginning of criminal activity

The first target of Fritz’s attack was the young man Friedel Rothe.

The owner of the “confectioner” met the victim on the street, and then invited him to settle in his home. As it turned out, Roth adhered to non-traditional sexual orientation and came to Hanover to be closer to the representatives of the LGBT community.

Soon, Fritz will write a message to Friedel’s mother, in which he informs that the son was sheltered by a “caring uncle”, without forgetting to indicate his address. The boy’s mother was worried when she received the postcard. She immediately went to the police station. Soon, law enforcement officers were already knocking on the home of the owner of the confectionery. Frinz did not open the door, and then the police were forced to use force to get into the house. They saw a terrifying picture: Haamann had almost finished shredding Friedel's dead body, whose head was hidden behind a window curtain. But the police did not find her. Fritz explained his actions simply: "I cut the beef." The police did not suspect anything.

He was arrested later, but not for murder, but for indecent behavior. He was sentenced to 9 months.

Werewolf in uniform

After leaving the places of deprivation of liberty, Haamann realized that he needed to act more carefully, and the army skills acquired in the past helped him in this. After some time, Fritz gets a job in the police. In the status of a law enforcement officer, it was easy for him to find new victims. To this end, serial killer Fritz Haarmann often visited the waiting room of Hanover Central Station. It was this territory that was considered a danger zone at night, so it was carefully guarded.

Dressed in police uniforms, Haamann was able to easily find the objects of attack. Most often, they became some sort of youth of an untidy appearance. Seeing this, the serial killer Fritz Haarmann approached the victim, showed the badge of a policeman and offered to shelter the young man in his closet, which was located in a butcher's shop. As a rule, the young men agreed. A few days later, the owner of the "candy store" invited young people to enter into an intimate relationship with him. In most cases, they were not opposed, since Haaman knew how to choose “potential” gays. But then the murderer killed his sexual partners. At first, he slightly strangled the victim, and when she lost consciousness, gnawed his throat and drank blood. It is noteworthy that Fritz did not take the life of the female representatives, since he believed that they were a "hotbed of sexually transmitted diseases and a source of debauchery."

Another lover

A little later, the maniac met a certain Hans Greens, who became not only his sexual partner (and permanent), but also a companion in criminal matters. Hans suggested that the meat of the killed people be added to sausages, which were made in the Fritz shop. But the attackers went even further in their affairs: they agreed to supply meat "with humanity" to local catering establishments.

Over the past few years of criminal activity, Haamann has taken the lives of the people his accomplice pointed to. And sometimes it was important for criminals to get not only the meat of the victim: they killed, for example, and in order to get a new shirt or pants that the victim wore.

The final

In the summer of 1924, Fritz Haarmann (the killer) persuaded a man named Fromm, who spent the night at the train station, to go and taste meat with him. The young man unlocked, because he heard that in the area they kill homeless people hiding in the Hanover train station. Seeing that Fromm did not give in to persuasion, the maniac made an attempt to forcibly take him away. But the young man put up worthy resistance to Haaman. The police escaped to the noise, and the participants in the incident were taken to the police station. The victim of a failed crime openly accused Fritz of harassment and remembered that a maniac was operating in Hanover. Law enforcement officials were sympathetic to Fromm's words. Despite the fact that Haamann wore a police badge, he was placed in a cell.

The criminal's shop was immediately searched. It turned out that at that moment an accomplice Fritz Grants cuts into pieces the body of a young guy who disappeared at the station a few days ago.
