During his career, Mark Ruffalo has starred in more than 60 films and television series of various genres. Despite the rich filmography, most modern viewers will probably recognize this talented actor thanks to the latest MCU Avengers film adaptations in which he played the role of Hulk, one of the superheroes.

“You Can Rely on Me” (2000)
The life of a single mother, Sammy, does not stand still: a renewed relationship with a former boyfriend, a new boss with unusual working rules; an eight-year-old son who is actively fantasizing about his father; and also the visit of a brother named Terry (the role of Mark Ruffalo), who had not contacted for several months. Soon, Sammy receives a proposal for marriage, and Terry promises his nephew a long-awaited meeting with his father.
"We Don't Live Here Anymore" (2004)
Another decent film with Mark Ruffalo in the drama / romance genre. The actor plays a character named Jack Linden, a family man and university professor. He and his wife Terry are on friendly terms with another married couple of Hank and Edith. At first glance, it may seem that the heroes are happy to have their own hearth and value their relationship very much. However, in fact, a cloud of betrayal and deception has long been hanging between the families of Jack and Hank. Adultery, mutual lies and affair with loved ones - how far will these desperate heroes go and can they achieve their personal happiness?
Island of the Damned (2010)
An exciting detective thriller directed by Martin Scorsese, filmed based on the bestseller of the same name. Two American bailiffs have to go to a remote island in Massachusetts, where there is a psychiatric institution for crazy criminals. The fact is that recently, under mysterious circumstances, one of the patients disappeared from this place. Heroes undertake an investigation and, without suspecting it, begin to reveal the terrible secrets of the mysterious psychiatric institution one after another.
"Island of the Damned" is not only one of the best films with Mark Ruffalo and Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead roles, but also an excellent story, the ending of which will conquer even the most sophisticated film lover.
Endlessly Polar Bear (2014)
A touching dramatic film with Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Soldan in the lead roles. Cameron suffers from manic-depressive psychosis. Despite the diagnosis, he decides to start a family, but is not able to cope with his duties as a father and husband. His wife Maggie begins to realize that she can no longer put up with constant nervous breakdowns. Soon she was leaving for another city to complete her studies. Cameron is left alone with two daughters with whom he can’t get along with him. Girls do not make contact with their father at all, and are still embarrassed by their poor living conditions. However, Cameron does not intend to retreat. He has to take full responsibility for the control and education of his daughters in order to return his wife and save the crumbling marriage. Will the Stuart family be able to return happiness and harmony to their family hearth?
Interesting fact: both Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Soldana take part in the filming of the MCU universe. At first they played in different films, but soon their heroes appeared together in the third part of Avengers called Endless War.

The next film starring Mark Ruffalo is a crime drama based on real events. The plot revolves around a group of journalists from a Boston newspaper investigating a high-profile national sex scandal. In reality, this case has become one of the most notable cases of a similar nature in the history of the United States. During the investigation, correspondents manage to expose several important representatives of the church who were engaged in pedophilia.
The Avengers (2012 - present)
The MCU Avengers series of films has gained enormous fanbase and frenzied popularity around the world. The very first film that brought together a group of popular superheroes was released in 2012, and the last one to date is just recently, in 2019.
Mark Ruffalo in all parts of The Avengers appeared in the role of the mighty Hulk - a superhero turning into an uncontrollable green monster, driven by pure rage, as well as the desire to destroy everything in its path. Before Ruffalo began to play the role of the Hulk, other famous actors worked on it. Mark, however, took over the baton from the first Avengers, and then starred in several sequels: Avengers: Age of Ultron, Endless War, and Avengers: Final. Whether the actor will continue to work on the role so beloved by MCU fans is not yet known.
