Childhood and youth

Nikolay Kirichenko was born in Minsk in 1946. His father was a military man, Ukrainian by nationality. The boy grew up in an international family, since his mother was born in Armenia.

As a child, Nikolai Kirichenko began attending a drama club, although his father expected that his son would follow in his footsteps. When the hero of the article announced to his parents his plans to become an actor, they were surprised, for a long time they could not come to terms with the fact that he would not become an officer.

Young Kolya himself doubted that he had chosen the right direction. Even left the second year of theater school to enter the Polytechnic Institute.

But as a result, his desire to play on stage was so great that he decided on a second attempt. So he ended up at the Belarusian Art and Theater Institute. He studied at the course of Dmitry Orlov.

Actor Nikolai Kirichenko received a diploma of graduation in 1969. He worked at the Brest Regional Drama Theater a couple of years after that, and since 1971 he began playing at the National Academic Theater, named after Yanka Kupala. Here he worked for almost half a century. Moreover, from 2005 to 2009 he directed the theater, holding the post of director. Among his works on stage, it is worth noting the role of Jagiello in "Prince Vitovt", Georges in "Terrible Parents", Polonius in "Hamlet", Firs in the play "Cherry Orchard".

Since the late 1980s, Nikolai Kirichenko was engaged in pedagogical work. He taught at the State Academy of Arts in Minsk. He had the title of professor. On the basis of the academy, he directed the courses of film and drama theater actors, revealing to them the secrets of his skill.

His debut on the big screen took place in 1972 in the musical comedy of Diamara Nizhnikovskaya “Fakir for an hour”. In it, he played the cameo role of a business traveler.

Over the years, he was little known for film work, mainly appearing in episodes. Recognition for the actor came only in the late 1990s, when he played Istvan Bartosh in the detective series "Kamenskaya". After this photo of Nikolai Kirichenko began to appear regularly in magazines devoted to cinema.

In the 2000s, he starred a lot. These were both full-length pictures and television series. For example, in 2001, Beria played in Mikhail Ptashuk’s military drama "In August of the 44th ...". In the last years of his life, the series “White Wolves” was released, where he played the chief accountant of the construction company Nikolai Mikhailovich. In the serial film "Alchemist. In August 2018, Kirichenko passed away. Officially, the cause of death was not named. However, it is known that in recent years he was seriously ill. The actor was 72 years old.
