Konstantin Konstantinov was born in 1978 in the city of Liepaja (Latvia). Despite the fact that the boy’s parents had nothing to do with the sport, the future champion independently decided to go to the gymnastics section. Kostya was then only six years old.

Then he switched to judo. In this type of martial arts, good strength training was required, so exercises with a barbell were included in the young athlete's training program. In adolescence, Konstantin Konstantinov, whose growth increased every year, was actively carried away by bodybuilding, fashionable at that time. The boy did not have a coach, so he developed the first training program on his own. Kostya made emphasis on strength exercises, wanting to achieve certain results in powerlifting. Already at the age of 17, Konstantin Konstantinov, whose growth at that time was 180 centimeters with a weight of 73 kg, showed excellent results. His best performance in traction reached 215 kg.

There was very little information about the training and nutrition of powerlifters at that time. Kostya learned all that is possible from rare specialized publications. The young man independently compiled a diet, which, as it turned out later, almost perfectly met all the necessary dietary conditions of professional powerlifters.

In 1997, Konstantin Konstantinov, whose growth had almost reached the limit laid down by genetics, went to the first competitions in Latvia, where he managed to become a winner. Then began performances in the international arena: in Austria, Finland, Russia, Germany and other countries. In 2000, the athlete won his first victory outside Latvia, then won the Moscow Open Powerlifting Cup. Also successfully ended for Konstantinov competition in Nizhny Novgorod.

In 2002, the athlete set two records at the European Championship. Konstantin Konstantinov, whose thrust reached 390 kilograms at that time, managed to collect the amount of 1002.5 kg. This result allowed the powerlifter to become the absolute champion of Europe (juniors). Konstantin managed to win this title in Helsinki. There he also set a new record, collecting 1041 kg in triathlon. A similar story happened in Vienna in 2003. In addition to the title, Konstantinov set 2 world records. Every year, the powerlifter achieved new successes both in his native country and in the international arena.

In 2010, Konstantin received a serious injury to his upper back. After that, I had to recover for a long time, and the athlete missed a number of significant competitions. Nevertheless, the hero of this article managed to win bronze at the Battle of the Champions tournament. Soon, the athlete completed his sports career.
