βMy name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest person on earth,β - this is how the screensaver for one of the most popular TV series about superheroes of our time begins. Comics about Flash are still incredibly popular, although they came out in the second half of the last century. They were first filmed on TV in the 90s, but only the new series on THE CW got real fame. A more thoughtful plot, cooler special effects, but the most important feature of the new βFlashβ are the actors who embodied the famous characters on the screen.
Main character
A lot of candidates claimed the role of Barry Allen. By the way, the first appearance of the forensic medical expert - the future superhero - was supposed to take place first in Strela, and only then Flash was supposed to get its own series. As a result of the casting, the role went to Grant Gastin, the star of the hit youth series βChorusβ. Fans of the comics were puzzled by this choice, hardly imagining the puny Gastin in such a cult form, because in the "Choir" he played an open gay, and in general his image did not fit in with Flash.
In the second season of Arrows, when the audience first met Mr. Allen performed by Gastin, they still looked at him incredulously. And what was their surprise when the actor himself so organically blended into his role, and Flash, as an independent TV show, started so successfully that the channel did not have such a furore since the premiere of Vampire Diaries. The flash performed by Garnet Gastin eventually fell in love with the audience so much that the appointment of Ezra Miller for this role in the film adaptation caused a storm of indignation.
Tech support
But a superhero cannot be truly strong without a team, without the people who support him. And the creators of the series picked up an amazing team for Flash.
Actor Carlos Valdez embodied on the screen the brilliant scientist Cisco Ramon, who later turned out to be a meta-person, having received the code name Vaib. The character of Cisco is one of the central in the series, without his development and ideas, the team would certainly not have mastered most of the enemies. In addition, Ramon is the main generator of humor in the show. Fans instantly pick up and use many of his jokes and interesting phrases in real life.
Speaking of Flash actors, special attention should be paid to Tom Cavan. This diverse and undoubtedly ingenious master played three roles in the series: Eobard Thone (Reverse Flash), Dr. Harrison Wells and Ha Era (Wells double from Earth 19). Moreover, all three characters were so different that the performer can only applaud while standing. Without Cavana, the series would have definitely lost its zest.
The third βbrainβ of the team is Caitlin Snow, the embodiment of the image of which fell on the fragile shoulders of Daniel Panabaker. She also got an unusual role, because the meek and calm Miss Snow from the third season has been fighting a fierce struggle with her second "I" - Killer Frost.
Related ties
The Flash family is also an integral part of his life and his team. The most important love of Barry Allen was played by the African-American Candice Patton. And although she looks even less canonical than the speedster itself (judging by the comics), the actress coped with the role of Iris West one hundred percent. The role of detective Joe West, father of Iris and adoptive father of Barry, also went to African-American Jesse L. Martin. He perfectly succeeds in combining the image of a good cop and a wonderful father. Another member of the West family appeared only in the second season, but immediately blended firmly and organically into the show. Kanean Lonsdale brilliantly coped with the role of Wally, who later became Kid Flash. The young man is struggling to maintain a balance between youthful maximalism and love for the family.
Important people
In different seasons there were bright secondary characters, which, nevertheless, were very important for the show. In the first season, it was Ronnie Raymond (second half of the Firestorm) and detective Eddie Thawne, played by Robbie Amell and Rick Cosnett, respectively. It is also impossible to forget about the most breathtaking villainous duet of Captain Cold and Heatwave performed by Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. The first serial Flash - actor John Wesley Ship - received the role of Barry's father, Henry Allen, in a new adaptation, and for the second time in his life he put on the famous red zipper suit, becoming Flash from Earth 2 - Jay Garrick. In the third season, Tom Felton, the star of Harry Potter, also entered the main castes. His character is still a dark horse, fans are looking forward to a more detailed disclosure of Julian Albert in the upcoming new season.
