The beginning of a sports career
Semen was born in the spring of 1988 in the Russian city of Kuybyshev. His date of birth is April 27th. Now his hometown is known as Samara. As a child, he began to get involved in hockey and played in the sports school of CSK. When Semyon was eleven years old, he moved to the city of Yaroslavl. A hockey team was organized there, which consisted of children of his age. In it, he became the goalkeeper. His career went uphill a few years later. At 16 Varlamov became the second goalkeeper of Lokomotiv 2, and a year later he began to play as the main goalkeeper of this team. Career in the NHL
When Varlamov was twenty years old, he signed a contract with the American club Washington Capitals for a period of three years. In this regard, he moved to America. In the three years that the contract lasted, Semyon played not only as a goalkeeper in the Washington Capitals team. First, he began to play for the Hershey Bears, who took part in the AHL.
