Toxoplasmosis: symptoms

Toxoplasmosis, the symptoms and treatment of which will be discussed in this article, is a very insidious disease. The bottom line is that for a long time it may not manifest itself in any way. Symptoms of toxoplasmosis are fully manifested only when a person has a very weak immune system.

What is toxoplasmosis?

At the first signs, it is worth contacting a specialist. What does this disease in itself represent? This term refers to a parasitic disease resulting from exposure to protozoa called toxoplasmas on the human body. First of all, this parasite attacks the organs of vision. The endocrine, lymphatic and nervous systems are also attacked. Toxoplasmosis, the symptoms of which we will consider, can be transmitted in various ways. It is likely that not all of them have been studied. It is believed that mainly the parasite is transmitted to humans from pets. In some cases, infection occurs even in the womb. Sometimes a person gets sick after an insect bite. The parasite can be caught by eating infected meat.

Toxoplasmosis: symptoms

Several varieties of it can be distinguished. First, let's talk about congenital toxoplasmosis. This disease develops quickly and affects all the organs of the child. With all this, a great many different symptoms arise. These include, first of all, rashes, fever. Severe chills, yellowing of the mucous membranes and skin, spleen and liver increase, eyesight falls, the eyes themselves begin to hurt. Sick children behave very sluggishly, they suffer from general weakness of the body.

Now consider the symptoms that acquired toxoplasmosis has. As mentioned above, for a long time it can develop completely imperceptibly. Over time, a slight increase in temperature can be observed. Over time, the migraine will begin to torment the infected person, there will be pain in the joints, as well as in the muscles. A person becomes tired, any physical work begins to seem unpleasant to him.

Acquired toxoplasmosis, the symptoms of which we are considering, leads to an increase in lymph nodes. Complications include encephalitis, endocarditis, pneumonia, various eye diseases.

Toxoplasmosis can also be chronic. This species is perhaps the most common of all. It can proceed in a latent form for up to three years. Symptoms in this case will be migraine, impaired attention, weakness, loss of appetite, memory problems. Some patients have hallucinations. An important symptom is a lack of interest in everything that happens around.

In chronic toxoplasmosis, problems with the cardiovascular system may occur. In some cases, arrhythmia, tachycardia and the like occur. When a parasite enters the gastrointestinal tract, the patient begins to experience dry mouth, bloating. The appetite disappears completely.
Toxoplasmosis can lead to a failure of the menstrual cycle in women. In men, impotence can develop due to its cause.

Doctors often prescribe antibiotics for treatment, but many still prefer to use folk remedies. Which ones? For example, an extract (alcohol) of propolis. Apply it for twenty days. Symptoms begin to disappear within a few days after the first dose.

It is recommended to take all means that are somehow able to restore or enhance immunity. It can be vitamin complexes, or something from folk remedies (for example, a rosehip broth). Good immunity is able to overcome parasites, as well as eliminate the negative impact that they managed to exert on the body.
