And although the word itself in translation from English means “struggle”, in reality, these vivid shows are still far from a real sport. Yes, there is also a place for various painful and suffocating techniques and they are performed quite firmly and believably. But nevertheless, the very idea of such fights is a showcase by showmen who have excellent physical shape, wrestling skills and are able to present to the public what is called “bread and sight”. We will talk about one of such outstanding wrestlers of our time by the name of Daniel Brian in detail in this article.

The current star of the WWE world series was born on May 22, 1981. Hometown for the athlete is the American city of Aberdeen, located in Washington. Full name is Brian Lloyd Denilson. Professional career
In wrestling, Daniel Bryan made his debut on October 4, 1999. Before joining WWE, he performed in various independent federations. 2010 was a turning point, when the guy turned out to be a participant in the first season of the NXT tournament, thanks to which you can directly get into the elite division and sign a contract that is advantageous from a material point of view. Unfortunately, our hero was fired at the end of the season, but already in the summer of that year he ended up at WWE as the seventh member of the Raw team during the then SummerSlam show.
During the event called “Night of Champions”, Daniel was able to defeat Miz and take away from him the belt of the best fighter of the United States. However, on March 14, 2011, the American Dragon (Brian's sports nickname) lost his title to then-challenger Seymus.
Champion period
Daniel earned his world heavyweight title during the TLC show: Tables, Ladders & Chairs. Initially, the Big Show took possession of the championship then , but after the fight Mark Henry attacked him, and Brian only took advantage of the situation (used the contract) and held on to hold the already defeated and exhausted Show, thanks to which he became the new champion.
The American Dragon defended his belt during the Royal Battle, and in a trilateral duel against Mark Henry and the Big Show. The next defense came at the Elimination Chamber and it was also successful.
The loss of the title came to WrestleMania XXVIII, when Daniel lost to Seamus. Failure happened already at 18 seconds of the match, as Brian was in a deep knockout after the first missed strike from an opponent. Subsequently, Daniel Bryan fought against Shamus during the PPV Extreme Rules and lost again.
Team champion
In September 2012, the American Dragon, along with his teammate Hell No Kane, became official contenders for the champion title in the team competition, overcoming the resistance of a team called The Prime Time Players for this. In a duel against Kofi Kingston and R-Truth, the young tandem was able to turn the confrontation in his favor and pick up the belts.
The first defense passed literally a few days later and was successful. However, already at the Hell in a Cell tournament, Brian and his partner were disqualified during the fight with Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow, but still retained their belts.
Another title defense came at the Battle of 2013. Then the candidates from the Rhodes Scholars team were defeated. The subsequent victory in the team event for Hell No came in WrestleMania 29, when Dolph Ziggler and Big Y Langston were literally destroyed and declassified .
However, any tale will ever end, and even more so in shows such as wrestling. Daniel Brian and Kane during Extreme Rules 2013 lost their titles to the Shield. The very next day, a revenge was held, and again the American Dragon and Kane were losers, so they lost all chances of returning their belts.
Heavyweight fights
On July 15, 2013, Brad Maddox, who is the general manager of Raw, for the first time since the existence of the most popular show, allowed the then-current champion Cine to independently choose an opponent to defend the WWE heavyweight title. This opponent was the American Dragon. As a result, Daniel Bryan fought against Sina at SummerSlam, and this fight was very successful for our hero and he was able to become the new champion. But already during the glee after the fight, Randy Orton appeared and quickly hung up his suitcase, and also took the help of the special judge Triple H. As a result, Daniel was defeated, and Orton took the title. However, already during the PPV Night of Champions, Brian was able to return his belt.
Injury and career ending
In May 2014, Daniel Bryan fought with Kane. The defense of the title for the American Dragon was successful, but at the same time he received serious bodily injuries, due to which he underwent surgery on his neck. And on June 9, 2014, he was completely deprived of his belts by decision of Stephanie and the Player.
The consequences of the injury were so serious that the Extreme Rules 2015 tournament was held without the previously scheduled fight of Brian for the Intercontinental champion belt.
In February 2016, Daniel announced the end of his performances in wrestling, as doctors did not give him access to the competition for health reasons. And in July, he became the General Manager of SmackDown.
