Education is a person’s activity aimed at obtaining skills, abilities and knowledge in general or taking into account certain topics of their choice. The educational institutions in which a person receives education have a great diversity in their educational profile, but they all work to transfer experience to students and prepare it for independent activity in the chosen field. So, in what educational institutions does a person receive education throughout life?
From birth to 2 years
Newborn children are probably the best representatives of students. Moreover, they must learn and comprehend new knowledge very quickly. The process of education goes through observation and repetition. And the teachers are the parents of the baby, their own horizons and observation.
For 2 years, a person needs to master a large number of skills: the ability to speak, walk, eat, distinguish loved ones, observe and take note of the surrounding world. The very first institution where the baby goes through his first education can be safely called his own home. The period from birth to 2 years can be considered the main stage in human life in terms of learning the skills of independent activity.
2 years - 7 years
Having reached the age of two, the child enters a preschool. Kindergarten is becoming the first platform for education in the generally accepted sense. Over 5 years of education in a preschool institution, the child learns to navigate well in the environment, think and make appropriate decisions. The learning process is built on games and activities, while preschoolers improve their body control skills, observation, logic, and thinking.
Kindergarten graduates receive primary pre-school education, which is not considered official. They don’t give diplomas or certificates in kindergarten, but this does not make the need for such education less.
7–16 (18) years old
At the age of seven, the child enters school. This is the basis of knowledge that is necessary for all, without exception, and the answer to the question of in which educational institutions a person receives education. Social studies and school years teach many disciplines necessary for the further development of personality and improvement of skills for independent activity in life. Schoolchildren go through three levels to complete secondary education:
I. 1-4 grade. The younger school graduates children with primary general education.
II. 5-9 grade. High school is the main and graduates of adolescents with a basic general education. Those who want to leave school after 9th grade can go through the missing step by enrolling in educational institutions in which people receive education, in addition to secondary education, also a professional one. These are schools, technical schools, colleges focused on attracting people who have consciously chosen the future path in life. After the end of such educational centers, you can always continue training at the next stage.
III. 10-11 grade. High school is preparing graduation of people with full secondary education. Pupils who graduated from school choose where in the future to receive knowledge from a wide variety of institutions, or immediately begin to work.
School is the basis for a person to understand the future path of his life. It is in school years that a desire for independent work is formed and the further choice of a profession is manifested.
16-18 (23) years
Happy years of students are a continuation of the path of enlightenment. In what educational institutions does a person receive education after school?
- At 16, a person can go to study at a school or college. At this level, the student receives a secondary education of a complete type and additionally initial skills of a professional plan. After graduating from such institutions, the student gets the opportunity to enter the 3rd year of a higher educational institution, and can immediately go to work in his preferred area of activity.
- At 18, young people can continue their studies at institutes, academies and universities. This is the last stage of education in the public understanding of the question of in which educational institutions a person receives education. Training takes up to 5 years, graduates of these institutions receive higher education in the chosen profile.

It is worth noting that the institute has some difference with the university. While the former trains specialists with a narrow profile of acquired knowledge, the latter is a special institution that prepares employees in subjects with a scientific basis. Upon receiving a diploma and applying for a job, employers do not see the difference in this, but students clearly understand it in the learning process. Universities are more focused on modern trends in science and can act as educational institutions even for educators.
Postgraduate education
After graduating, students go to graduate school, and then to doctoral studies. This type of education prepares candidates and doctors of sciences.
It is worth noting that the bulk of students are limited to obtaining higher education, and only a few students undergo postgraduate studies. The basis of the institute is enough to receive a prestigious profession, but graduate and doctoral studies are considered the destiny of selected students who decided to combine their lives with scientific practice. Doctors of science and graduate students who have completed doctoral studies, as a rule, themselves become educators and begin teaching for new students.
Certain professions require post-graduate education on the basis of the future enterprise, for example, doctors must receive an internship after receiving a document on higher education, otherwise such a doctor will not be able to work in his specialty. Internship is a type of education in a medical institution in the form of a practical initiative.
Additional education
Mugs, sections, music or art schools - these are all institutions for additional education, they are visited by children from 3 years old and up to adulthood.
Courses for various purposes can be attended by adults to acquire additional skills in the chosen activity, or if retraining for a new type of work is needed.
Further education reveals to a person the auxiliary aspects of training, in addition to the main program. After attending courses, a person receives a certificate of training in a new business, which can be used as a document on education in employment.
Education Profile
All educational institutions can be divided into two categories - private and public. And if a person wins when he gets primary education in a special plan institution, then with the higher fact of a separate institution, in what educational institutions a person receives education, he can play a cruel joke. Employers do not really favor specialists with a document on graduation from a private university, preferring public institutions.
But schools or kindergartens of a special type are welcomed when moving to the next level of education due to a more in-depth receipt of educational material.
Self education
Self-education is the skills that are acquired by a person during an independent activity without the help of other specialists. In essence, a person has been engaged in this type of training all his life, because any knowledge necessary for a harmonious existence in the world can be considered self-education.
To acquire such knowledge, literature, information technology, trial and error are used. For the application of such training, neither teachers nor visits to certain institutions are needed; the person himself chooses the topics and course. People can engage in this type of education in their free time from another job.
Self-education is the only type of training where assessments are made by one's own life.
