In a healthy woman, the vagina is not completely sterile. It is inhabited by various types of bacteria. Moreover, their quantitative composition is in equilibrium. Violation of this condition is characterized as vaginal dysbiosis. Almost every woman suffered from him at one time or another in life. As a rule, vaginal dysbiosis does not have a negative effect and does not provoke consequences, but in some cases it can cause very serious disorders in the body.
Imbalance in the vaginal microflora exacerbates during pregnancy. This is due to the fact that in this state the woman’s immunity is weakened. During pregnancy, vaginal dysbiosis can manifest itself in the form of copious discharge, increased burning or itching. Such disorders are associated with changes at the hormonal level of a pregnant woman.
It should be noted that the treatment of dysbiosis in the antenatal period is almost impossible. This is due to the need to take potent antibiotics, which is strictly prohibited during pregnancy.
To provoke disturbances in the balance of the vaginal microflora are also capable of infections transmitted during sex. The penetration of the pathogen contributes to the enhanced development of opportunistic bacteria, previously contained in a small amount. Thus, vaginal dysbiosis acquires a rapid course. This factor must be considered when prescribing therapy. In case of serious genital infections (chlamydia, trichomoniasis and others), they are first eliminated and then eliminated vaginal dysbiosis. Treatment is carried out using antibiotics and immune-correcting drugs.
The anatomy of a woman is such that the vaginal wall is located quite close to the rectum. This promotes the migration of bacteria. When diagnosed with intestinal dysbiosis, there is a high probability of disturbance of the vaginal microflora against its background. As practice shows, the test results confirm this. In this case, the imbalance of the vaginal microflora is quite difficult to treat. This is due to the constant probability of the penetration of opportunistic bacteria through the thin intestinal wall. Therefore, therapy begins with him.
Violations in the balance of the microflora of the vagina can also develop in girls who have not lived sexually. Dysbiosis in virgins is rarely accompanied by copious discharge. This is due to the structure of the pleus, which prevents their exit. In such cases, stagnation occurs, which contributes to the onset of inflammation. At the same time, the first sexual acts provoke the ingress of a mass of foreign bacteria, which can also cause the development of a serious disease. It should be noted that the hymen complicates the use of external drugs and the treatment of the vagina with medications. This, in turn, leads to a protracted treatment. In some cases, it is advisable to apply a hymenectomy (to violate the integrity of the hymen using special tools).
As practice shows, dysbiosis does not cause any problems for a woman’s partner, even in the case of regular unprotected sexual intercourse. An exception, however, is a pronounced imbalance in the microflora. In such cases, the development of balanoposthitis or urethritis is possible. It should be noted that these diseases are observed in men with reduced immunity and predisposed to diseases.
Imbalance of microflora in the vagina does not require treatment of a sexual partner. The exception is cases of a sexually transmitted disease in a man or woman.
