It is human nature to doubt whether he is right in his judgments, views and actions. This is natural if he has a legal consciousness, that is, such mental properties that determine the nature of his social and legal actions. He will always seek legitimate behavior, the attributes of which are discussed in this article.
What is a right?
The regulators of human behavior in society are many means - parental permission or a ban on some actions, a charter or an order from the production manager, a traffic light or traffic controller at the crossroads, etc. There is no unconditional submission to them. Violations occur with consequences that affect not only the violator, but also those around him.
Lawful behavior, signs and types are indicated in the legislation, a section of which is called "law". It gives the citizens of the state the inadmissibility of actions that could harm an individual, society, or the state. That is, law acts as a means of normalizing relations in society. The rights of citizens are fixed in the Constitution of the Russian Federation (chap. 2). Their protection is carried out by the state.
Signs of law
The concept of "law" in modern science is interpreted differently, depending on what points of view the researchers adhere to its nature. Nevertheless, there are general signs of law.

Laws, granting citizens rights, at the same time imposes obligations on them. Thus, human behavior is regulated.
For example, the law obliges citizens to put in the first place not personal, but state and public welfare. Otherwise, the entire social system may be violated.
Lawful behavior, its signs
Its very name already speaks of the essence of human actions: they do not contradict the law, the principles of public life. The concept, signs and significance of lawful behavior are disclosed not only in legal, but also in philosophical, psychological literature. Their conflicts are a subject of dramatic art, when the hero is faced with the need to decide whether he is doing the right thing, whether he is breaking the law?
Knowing three signs of legitimate behavior will help evaluate your own and other people's actions and actions:
- It is necessarily expressed in active action or inaction. For example, a citizen who knows about the impending crime reports it to the police (action). The employee does not comply with the order of the boss, contrary to his legitimate interests (inaction).
- It certainly complies with state legal principles and norms.
- Socially helpful, encouraged.
Compliance with laws sometimes causes legal consequences: defending his rights (to inheritance, to the inviolability of the person, to receive public services, etc.), a person applies to the court for their protection.
Types of Law Abiding
There are several of its classifications on various grounds. The following systematization of lawful behavior, its signs and types is most often used:
- by participants (subjects) and the degree of their activity - individual or collective behavior, active or passive (expressed in the inaction of the participants);
- according to the forms of implementation - the subjects observe, fulfill, use or apply legal norms;
- by consequences - legal acts or significant acts are carried out;
- depending on the internal, or subjective, side of legal relations - the subject is active in the legal framework, is law-abiding, is a conformist (“I am like everyone else”), a marginal (does not violate laws because of fear of being punished), he abides by laws out of the ordinary.
The concept and signs of lawful behavior, reflected in official documents, are not always applied in the personal relations of friends, men and women. The behavior of people can be regulated not by law, but by traditions, morality.
Composition of legal conduct
Any natural or social phenomenon, material object has its own composition. Elements of lawful behavior, signs that characterize its structure, are the subject and object of law and, accordingly, the subject-object relationship. Without fail, they must meet the requirements of the law.
The subjects of law are individual citizens and the so-called legal entities (organizations, cooperatives, enterprises, partnerships). They must be recognized as legally competent. Its signs: the presence of the ability to fulfill their civic duties, comply with the law and be responsible for its violations.
The objects of law are what subjective lawful behavior is aimed at, their signs: public relations, tangible and intangible objects (for example, copyright).
The subjective side of the behavior of the subject of law is characterized by his own attitude to the quality and results of his actions. It can be very or slightly interested, indifferent.
The objective side of lawful behavior, the signs of which are utility, the effectiveness of the subject. Studying the structure of the subject's behavior provides the basis for his legal qualifications.
Why are legal norms violated?
The existence of the state’s law enforcement system can be explained by the fact that lawful behavior, the sign of which is its usefulness to society, is not characteristic of all citizens. Why, what reasons can push a person to illegal actions?
At the heart of many of them - a lack of respect for the rights of others, selfishness, awareness of their own exclusiveness. Many such examples can be found in the media, telling about the legal consideration of inheritance cases, the behavior of “cool” on the roads, etc.
The reason for illegal actions is often called ignorance of the laws. But this can hardly be an excuse. By and large, every citizen should be well-versed in laws that relate to his areas of life - family, social, professional. Responsibility for the violation occurs even if the citizen does not know them.
Psychologists consider one of the causes of offenses that the criminals have not formed a generally accepted scale of rules, and value orientations do not correspond to moral ideas about good and evil. Their way of life is formulated in the motto “He who is strong is right” or “He who dared, he ate”.
The dangerous consequences are the systematic communication of a person (especially a young one) with people for whom crime has become a profession, with representatives of radical organizations and sects. The propaganda of their views and ideas can distort the legal consciousness of a person.
The crisis periods in the country destroy not only the economy, but also human ideals, which suddenly cease to conform to social norms. As a rule, in such periods, the number of crimes against the civil rights of an individual increases, corruption and bribery increase.
There are many more reasons why violations of the law are committed. But it’s true that a person with a developed legal consciousness will not violate the law under any circumstances.
