Plot of the film
A group of students selected as a result of tests sets out for a two-month sailing trip “Running on the Waves”. Young people become cadets on board the ship and are ready to learn the basics of maritime affairs under the guidance of experienced captain Viktor Gromov (played by Dmitry Pevtsov) and strict old-timer Yuri Rakita (Vladimir Vinogradov). Even young people intend to have fun and twist novels on this promising journey. However, something unexpected is happening: planet Earth is in a terrible catastrophe, forever changing its appearance - 90 percent of the land goes under water. The blame for this is the explosion in the large hadron collider (accelerator of charged particles), which happened as a result of some secret experiments conducted by physicists.
By the way, such a collider does exist in the European Council for Nuclear Research, which is located on the border of France and Switzerland, but, thank God, its fate is different from that which the scriptwriters came up with. During the film, we are hinted that the ship’s doctor Ksenia Danilova (Yulia Agafonova), who is a research scientist, and survival fundamentals teacher German Vorozhtsov (Ilya Lyubimov) are somehow hinted at dangerous experiments . Both concluded some mysterious contract and were sent to a ship with a secret mission.
The team discovers that perhaps it was the only surviving group of people on Earth. The ship roams the ocean in search of a surviving island. People experience pain, revise their views, rebel, fall in love, quarrel, help each other. All feelings are aggravated, and actions are decisive. The sailing vessel is attacked by countless flocks of hungry birds, then mutant fish, and once the motor died out right above a volcano ready to erupt. There are more than enough adventures in the film, each part keeps the audience in suspense, this probably explains the success of the film “The Ship” on STS.
How many episodes are in the original
The Spanish project involves three seasons. In the final, the denouement takes place. The authors do not exclude the possibility that the fourth will be filmed. If we compare how many episodes in the series “The Ship” on STS and in the Spanish “Ark” on the Antena-3 TV channel, it turns out that the first season of a foreign film consists of 13 parts, and in the Russian adaptation there are 26 of them. This is due to the fact that the timing of one part of the "Ark" is an average of 70 minutes, and the series in its Russian version lasts about 48. So, if a domestic audience votes with the TV button to continue the series, there is a chance to survive three or even four seasons of exciting adventures with the heroes .
