Vsevolod Safonov was not going to be an actor, he wanted to go to the front, he was eager for battle. After graduating from an aviation technical school just in the last year of the war, he waited with bated breath when, finally, it would be possible to put into practice all the acquired knowledge.

All his peers had already fought, he felt an incredible craving for flight, a great desire to contribute to the defeat of the Nazi invaders. Imagine the disappointment of the young man when the commission did not miss him for health reasons. Life lost its meaning, and Vsevolod Safonov did not know what to do next. He agreed with the friend’s request to go with him for entrance exams at the Shchukin school. Without any interest, without even learning normally a single piece, the young man passed the difficult exam with brilliance and really liked the whole commission.
Professor Orochko gladly enrolled him in his class. At first it was difficult, because the thought of aviation did not leave Safonov, however, after the first rehearsals, he suddenly felt that there it was, his calling.
After graduation, he was immediately invited to the Chamber Theater, where they entrusted several small roles. This was followed by work in "Satire", where Vsevolod shone in many performances, honing his skills. In 1952, he received a very responsible job in the theater on the territory of the GDR. The best were sent on such creative business trips, and Vsevolod Safonov felt his strength. Work in the GDR raised his stamina, because sometimes he had to play 3-4 performances a day, moreover, the troupe constantly moved from the garrison to the garrison, and Vsevolod traveled almost all of Germany. The troupe gave numerous concerts, played patriotic performances in order to maintain the military spirit of our soldiers.
First movie roles
For the first time in the movie, Safonov was invited in 1956, and immediately to the main role. While still an unknown actor, Vsevolod married Valeria Rubtsova, who was the director of Mosfilm. The couple met in Germany, where both worked in the theater of the Western Group of Forces.
