Recently, entering the Russian language of English words will not surprise anyone. Although they are not used very actively in everyday speech, many have become literally indispensable in many areas of life. It is impossible to say that the term “deadline” has taken any definite place in Russian speech, however, this word is quite popular, especially among office workers. There is an opinion that science fiction writers introduced this concept, precisely identifying a certain line, after crossing which the spacecraft could no longer return to the point from which it launched. However, you can’t hear such a definition in science fiction films, but if you ask film gourmets: “Deadline - what is this?”, You can hear a lot of options. The most common answers will be: the ironic thriller “Death Line” directed by P. Ruminov and the film “Deadline” by Sean McConville. The latest film masterpiece definitely deserves the attention of the audience, if only because it is based on a kind of story of a mentally ill person, generously seasoned with a certain subtext and elements of mysticism.
The idea does not shine with originality
Trying to explain to the viewer about Deadline what kind of movie it is is not easy. If you arm yourself with a fair amount of cynicism, the answer will be as follows - another horror movie from a series of moving to a killer house. After all, it contains all the components of such films: amateur video cameras, tapes with old records, ghosts and the main character, suffering from depression and a split personality. It is not recommended to read reviews before watching the Deadline movie, because most of them scold the picture for the battered plot and avenging ghosts, who managed to get tired of the order. But if you forget about the spoiler, then the main character, having survived the tragedy, moves to a new house in which, after a short period of time, rather unpleasant visions begin to torment her. A woman, instead of quickly getting out of there, is taken for "her own investigation" with all the terrible consequences that follow. All the action takes place inside the house and without any special effects, the minute appearance of a ghost does not count! At the same time, the viewer constantly sees only the leading role performer - it turns out to be a kind of “one actor” theater.
The 2009 Deadline film will appeal to that part of the audience that is able to understand and feel the whole drama of the “difficult life period”, but lovers of terrible secrets, endless screams, and rivers of blood will definitely remain disappointed.
