On the amateur

“Mobile” is a film whose reviews are diametrically opposed: from enthusiastic to harshly criticizing. However, none of the reviewers can reproach the group of creators working on the production of tape in unprofessionalism. The list of those who worked on the picture is producer Richard Seperstin, who was involved in the visualization of the famous "1408". And the director Tod “Kip” Williams is a proven craftsman in the film industry, he was the director of the sensational “Paranormal Phenomenon 2”. Stephen King, who has repeatedly confirmed his nickname "King of Horrors", needs no introduction. Therefore, to observe the result of their joint work is at least interesting. Especially fans of the genre, lovers of such creative cinema variations on the theme of survival in a post-catastrophic atmosphere among the brutal zombies. The film "Mobile Phone" reviews of viewers - fans of zombie movies for the most part are recommended for viewing, in contrast to the too picky expert reviewers.

Plot

“Mobile” is a film about which his storytelling was especially appreciated by reviews. The development of the plot begins with an acquaintance with the main character - the successful comic book artist Clayton Riddelli, who, while at the airport, unsuccessfully tries to reach his wife and son. The fact is that the battery runs out on his phone and it turns off. At the same time, the hero notices that others, talking on the cell, begin to behave inappropriately. From the mouth of the unfortunate, foam begins to go, and after short convulsions, they begin to attack each other. Clayton, despite the widespread insanity, decides, by all means, to get to the family. He firmly believes that such a sad fate did not suffer a wife and son. A casual fellow traveler and partner in the struggle for the survival of the protagonist becomes a colorful character Thomas McCourt - an elderly African American, a war veteran in Vietnam. Together they set off in search of the Riddeli family.

“Mobile” is a film whose reviews on the plot mark a curious fact. The narrative is not focused on the obsessed zombies themselves, but on the negative impact of modern technology.

Acting Ensemble

The main character of the movie Clayton Riddelli was embodied on the screen by an American actor, screenwriter and producer John Cusack. He is a sought-after and famous performer. The actor gained worldwide popularity in 1997, after participating in two film projects - “Air Prison” and “Murder at Gross Point”. “Mobile” is the third picture based on the book of Stephen King in the filmography of John Cusack, the first two - “Stay with me” and “1408”.

Thomas McCourt, a casual companion companion of the protagonist, was played by Samuel L. Jackson, who had already collaborated with Cusack during the production of 1408. The actor received worldwide recognition after the release of the rental of paintings "Tropical Fever", "Jurassic Park", "Games of Patriots" and "Goodfellas." It’s no coincidence that Jackson is called Tarantino’s favorite performer; the actor has been shot by the great contemporary director repeatedly; these are: Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, Jackie Brown, The Hateful Eight, Kill Bill 2. In the filmography of Samuel's Mobile Phone (film), the reviews of film critics were called not the most successful project.

Positive aspects

On the horror "Mobile" reviews are received and enthusiastic. Some film critics call it a quality product, a stylish film. Among the advantages of the picture are a smoothly developing plot, convincingly prescribed character characters, and the absence of outright blunders. A worthy ensemble deserves special praise - the tandem of first-rate stars John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson is perfectly complemented by young Isabelle Furman. The lack of global scope of the horror is explained by a modest budget, however, even the most skeptical reviews did not call the “Mobile” tape reviews cheap. Everything in it is simple, restrained and concise. It is currently very difficult to frighten any sophisticated contemporary - a fan of the genre with any kind of cinematic things, tricks. But the creators of the tape did it. And the two-layer finale of the movie “Mobile” (the film is how it ended, the reviews of viewers and critics are silent) is one of the main advantages of the film project.

King's technophobia

As acknowledged by famous Hollywood filmmakers, the protracted production played a cruel joke on the film. Almost immediately after the presentation of the novel, Eli Roth was going to film it, but soon after the creative differences, the director left the project. After production, they completely froze. So, the creators missed the moment when the global spread of cellular communication was perceived as a cause for fear. Perhaps the authors should transfer the action to the social plane. Instagram or Facebook networks, although, as recent horror shows, this is not a panacea.
