Despite the fact that the ship was depicted in the picture, it seemed that it was real. After all, the blue wave generated by the movement of the ship seemed to be approaching. Although not, she really moved. And soon the small room was completely filled with water.

So begins the film “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Vanquisher of the Dawn”, based on a famous novel. But in order to go to the plot of the picture and the actors who played in it, you should first go back a little.

"Lion, the witch and the wardrobe"

The beginning of the video story about the fabulous world - Narnia, created by Clive Staples Lewis, was laid in 2005. New Zealand director Andrew Adamson contributed to this, having once presented the world with three parts of Shrek. The budget of the film was then $ 180 million, and box office revenues increased this amount by about 4 times.

The plot focuses on four children whom parents send to live with a family friend, Professor Kirk. There, the youngest and most curious girl, Lucy, playing hide and seek, finds a closet in the professor’s office and hides in it. It only turns out not inside the closet, but in a snowy forest.

Soon she meets a strange creature named Mr. Tumnus, who gives the girl tea and tells a terrible story about how the fabulous country of Narnia, founded once by a powerful lion, was captured by the White Witch and that is why cold reigns here all the time. And she makes all the people who fall into her hands her slaves. Lucy goes home the same way, but after a while he returns to the company of three relatives who are ready to deal with the sorceress and restore peace to Narnia.

Location of the first part

To repeat the landscapes described in the book, Adamson had to work hard. He found suitable places in New Zealand and the Czech Republic. And the scene on the train was shot right away in two countries: in England and New Zealand.

There was another interesting story related to deer. In the film, animals modeled on a computer are shot, as local authorities have forbidden to bring live deer from other countries.

"Prince Caspian"

The second part appeared in 2008, its budget amounted to $ 220 million. True, the fees this time let us down, exceeding the costs only twice. The central characters are again the same four children, and only one year has passed since the last events. In Narnia, given its accelerated passage of time, 1300 years passed. And there everything is bad again.

Now the magical land was captured by the Telmarines, led by the evil usurper Miraz. Prince Caspian, without thinking twice, blows the Magic Horn and calls for the help of the warlike children of Pevensi. Again, they must save Narnia and return to power the rightful ruler.

Location of the second part

The second film was not completely shot in New Zealand and the Czech Republic. Some moments were shot on the Socha River near the town of Bovec, which is located in Slovenia. And some scenes, in general, are of Polish origin.

The total area of ​​all the scenery was approximately 2000 square meters. Interestingly, one of the most ambitious scenery for the film - the castle of Miraza - was built about 15 weeks. Outwardly, it looks a bit like Pierrefonds Castle, located in France. In order to enhance the greatness of the structure, its dimensions were increased three times. And 70 people worked on the costumes of the characters.

The Vanquisher of the Dawn

And finally, the third film - “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Vanquisher of the Dawn” - appeared in 2010. But unlike the previous two films, this director was Michael Eptid, known for the films “And the whole world is not enough,” “Enough is enough for me” and “Extreme measures”. $ 155 million was spent on the shooting, and almost three times more was earned. This film lost several characters, but new actors were added at the same time. “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Vanquisher of the Dawn”, by the way, is the only three-part release in 3D. Although there were no special stereoscopic effects there.

The saga returned with a new plot that begins with the departure of Lucy and Edmund Pevensi, as well as their cousin Eustace and King Caspian on the ship “Vanquisher of the Dawn”. In general, it was like that.

One day, Lucy's attention is drawn to a picture with the ship depicted on it. And only she manages to notice that the ship as if from Narnia, the guys werehes away the stream of water, and they find themselves in the open sea. They didn’t have to flounder for a long time, because the “Vanquisher of the Dawn” arrived in time and the teenagers were taken aboard.

Naturally, a meeting with old friends happened for a reason. There is a reason for this. Surely they will again face difficult trials. Only these children will be able to determine the future fate of Narnia, completing another dangerous mission. And this time they will have to find the seven Lords, friends of the father of Prince Caspian, whom Miraz had once expelled.

Location of the third part

This time, the shooting of the film was to take place in Australia in Queensland. The film crew and actors went there. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Vanquisher of Dawn was ready in 3 months, i.e. it took less time than creating the first two paintings. In parallel, some scenes were shot at a studio in the city of Gold Coast. And the very “Vanquisher of the Dawn” was created at Cape Cleveland Point. Part of the shooting took place in the open air, and then the design was disassembled into parts and sent to the studio to continue working on the film.

Movie making

Michael Petroni (Dangerous Games, 2002) and a duet of American scriptwriters Christopher Marcus and Stephen McPheeley (Thor 2: The Kingdom of Darkness, 2013 and others) worked on the script for the film. The cameraman was Dante Spinotti, known for such films as The Secrets of Los Angeles, Family Man and Johnny D. And the soundtrack was David Arnold. His creation can be heard in several series of "Bond", as well as in the film "Independence Day."

Actors "Chronicles of Narnia: The Vanquisher of the Dawn"

The cast of the last film has undergone minor changes. For example, William Mosley, who played Peter Pevensi, the eldest brother of four children, and Anna Popplewell, who played the honorable role of an older sister, did not get on the ship. Thus, the youngest children remained - Lucy and Edmund Pevensi - the queen and king of the Golden Age of Narnia.

Also in the new part was Simon Pegg. He played the role, or rather, voiced the brave Ripichip, who showed himself in the great battle at the end of the second film. Only there another voice actor was engaged. But this time, the leadership of the picture refused his services, and Simon Pegg began to voice Ripichip.

By the way, even Benjamin Barnes (the current king of Narnia, Caspian X) could not do. Where, indeed, he decided to go in search of the missing Lords, whom his uncle had once expelled.

And Nathaniel Parker played in the film father Caspian. Small role. If you do not look carefully, you might not notice it there. But the actor got serious roles in such projects as, for example, Stardust and Irena Sendler's Braveheart. And Nathaniel Parker was the uncle of King Arthur in the TV series Merlin.

In the film, Will Poulter got the role of the unpleasant Pevensi cousin - Justes Harm. He hit the ship with Lucy and Edmund, but the only one was extremely unhappy about this. In addition to this picture, Poulter starred in the films “The Maze Runner”, “The Son of Rambo”, “The Survivor”, etc.

Gary Sweet became Lord Darian, who was captain of the Vanquisher of the Dawn. But his film career is not limited to this. The actor can also be seen in films and TV shows: “Secret Attraction”, “I Tied Up”, “Blue Healers”, “Pacific Ocean”, etc.

Finally, it is worth noting the role of Lord Roop, which was played by Bruce Spence. He is the only one of Caspian's father’s missing friends who was conscious, though not completely. He had to participate in the filming of films such as “The Lord of the Rings 3”, “Ace Ventura 2” and “Star Wars 3”. There were also the series "Legends of the Seeker" and "All Saints."

In general, there are rumors that the fourth film from the series “The Chronicles of Narnia” is due to appear soon. It seems that even the script is finished and the actors are selected. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Vanquisher of the Dawn, apparently, expects the continuation of the story. But the date of the premiere is not yet indicated.
