short biography
At college, Norman Osborne studied chemical and electrical engineering disciplines.
Vowed as a child that he would achieve more than his father, whom he despised because he drank a lot and humiliated their mother, Norman studied hard and eventually founded his own company called Oscorp.
Once, Norman Osborne stumbled upon a formula that could significantly improve the physical parameters of a person, primarily his strength. Working on this serum, he makes a mistake, as a result of which an explosion occurs in the laboratory. The substance affected Norman himself, he became stronger physically, and his mental abilities grew significantly. However, a side effect of the serum was Osbourne's insanity, because of which he eventually becomes the supervillain of the universe, known as the Green Goblin.
Supervillain
Under his new alter ego, Norman Osborne begins his criminal activity, wanting to become the leader of the New York Mafia. The main trump card, thanks to which he will have to strengthen his position in the criminal world of the city, he considers the murder of Spider-Man, one of the key antagonists of which he becomes.
First, Osborne needed to find out who is hiding under the mask of Spider-Man, for this he is developing a special gas that blocks the spiderβs instinct.
Following him, he learns that Peter Parker, a classmate of his son Harry, is the famous superhero.
All attempts to defeat Spider-Man by abducting his loved ones resulted in the loss of the memory of the Green Goblin, which constantly returned to him. However, he did not manage to come out the winner in the confrontation with Peter Parker.
The first appearance of the character in the comics occurred in 1964, when he appeared to the public in the image of a Goblin, however, he appeared in the person of Osborne for the first time after 2 years in 1966.
Norman Osborne Actor
Such a colorful and interesting supervillain like Osborne, of course, could not but be embodied in the cinema. He became the main antagonist in the 2002 film Spider-Man.
The role of the villain in this film was played by the talented actor William Defoe, who coped with his tasks in the best way possible. The actor himself was far from the first time playing a negative character in a movie. This role is generally one of the main for the actor, on whose account a large number of roles of a negative nature.
Surprisingly, initially the actor was not considered at all for this role. However, he really wanted to play the Goblin in the Marvel film, so William began to actively seek his approval for this role.
He sent his application to the creators of the picture, confirming that he is great for this role, with videos shot in a hotel room where William Defoe read several Osborn monologues.
After approving him for this role, the actor demanded that he perform all the tricks in the film independently without the participation of understudies. In the final version of the blockbuster, about 95% of the tricks performed by the Green Goblins were performed directly by William himself.
Such determination and dedication to my work yielded good results. Now, every person who is interested in superhero movie comics, the image of the Green Goblin is associated primarily with Defoe.
