Biography of Ovchinnikov
Alexander Yuryevich Ovchinnikov was born in Moscow on June 7, 1947. Being in search of his place in life, he studied at the Energy Institute, worked, then served in the army.
At one point, he decided to try himself in the theatrical sphere and submitted documents to the Shchepkin school, where by that time the entrance exams had ended. The selection committee went to meet yesterday's soldier, giving him an attempt to show himself as a promising actor. Ovchinnikov, having stood the test with dignity, was enrolled in the course of the famous teacher and director V. I. Tsygankov.
The beginning of the acting path
During his studies, along with the other Shchepkins, he took part in mass episodes of stage productions of the Maly Theater. As a student, on the famous stage, he played 4 roles, among which Janus from Crime Tango participated in the premiere of Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich. At the end of the theater school in 1973, he was invited to work in the troupe of the Maly Theater, where he played dozens of roles. Among them were large and small, and each was distinguished by thoughtfulness and a correct understanding of the specifics of drama.
Spectators will surely remember the following acting works by Alexander Ovchinnikov: Yanek (âMakropulos's fundsâ Karl Chapek), Chino (âConsul was stolenâ by Georgy Mdivani), Dima (âEvening Lightâ by Alexey Arbuzov),
Professionalism of Alexander Ovchinnikov
Alexander often had to duplicate the actors, enter the finished play. Usually, most input is planned in advance, but often in stage practice force majeure occurs, when the actor in a matter of hours, after only a couple of rehearsals, should be in "combat" readiness to exit in a given way. That is how Ovchinnikov appeared in the role of Prince Shakhovsky in Tsar Fedor Ioannovich. Also appeared in the play "Humiliated and Offended" in the role of Alyosha. These two works fully showed the professionalism of the young artist, who managed to reveal the complexity of the character played, while highlighting everything important in him.
The role of Egmont in the production of G. Hauptmann âBefore the Sunsetâ, prepared independently by Ovchinnikov, was so successful that the actor began to play it with the first performer on an equal footing.
Alexander Ovchinnikov is reliable and organic, playing the role of a modern character. In the image of George in the play âOver the Light Waterâ by V. Belov, the actor is convincing in a deep understanding of the inner world of man of our time. Seriously peering into the character of his character, Alexander does not try to smooth out the contradictions that come from life itself.
