PJSC "Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant": history, production, contacts

In 2019, PJSC Yaroslavl Shipyard celebrates its centenary. Over the years, the company has grown from a small lamp workshop to a large-scale production of ships with an unlimited navigation area. YaSZ produces boats of various classes: from small maneuverable yachts, to patrol boats and river tankers.

Yaroslavl Shipyard

The first five-year plans

The Yaroslavl shipyard was created in the first revolutionary years at the facilities of the workshop that produced lamps. Convenient location on the banks of the Volga, the availability of qualified personnel, and attention from the authorities contributed to the development of large-scale production. In 1920, the Yaroslavl Motor Shipyard built the first boat. In the pre-war years, the main products of the YaZZ were gliders, sea and river raiders, fire, postal, and diving boats.

During the Second World War, Yaroslavl shipbuilders assembled unique vessels equipped with volley missiles of the Katyusha class. They participated in the largest battle in the history of mankind - the Battle of Stalingrad. They helped to liberate Ukraine, Belarus, Western countries as part of the Danube and Dnieper flotillas.

Post-war development

In the late 1940s, a systematic reconstruction of the enterprise began, with its transfer to the construction of sea vessels in an unlimited navigation area. In the mid-60s, the Yaroslavl Shipyard switched to the release of new ship designs and, before the beginning of the 90s, handed over 12-14 orders annually.

In the 80s, the next reconstruction of production facilities began, after which the volume of ship production should have almost doubled. But during the period of perestroika, financing almost stopped, orders froze on the stocks, the output of finished goods fell. Now the company is completing the bulk of orders laid down at that time.

Characteristic

YaZZ is one of the oldest enterprises in the industry. Today it has the most modern equipment and highly qualified personnel to fulfill orders of the power structures of the Navy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB of Russia and other consumers, including foreign ones. Traditionally, new projects are being mastered here that make up the pride of Russian shipbuilding. Contacts of the Yaroslavl Shipyard: 150006, RF, Yaroslavl, ul. Ship-1.

Technological base

Until the beginning of the 90s, YaZZ was a shipyard of a full profile, that is, performing the whole range of shipbuilding works: from the procurement of sheet and profile steel to the testing of finished orders. If you compare the photo of the Yaroslavl shipyard of different years, it is easy to notice that the production area has decreased.

Today, a flexible scheme is used taking into account economic feasibility. To perform certain works, counterparties are involved, part of the equipment is purchased from third-party companies. We had to get rid of some of the capacities, while expanding industry cooperation. However, the main production remained. This is the workshop:

  • pipe;
  • assembly and welding;
  • slipway outfitting;
  • mechanical;
  • procurement section of hull production.

Production capacity

The Yaroslavl Shipyard is equipped with a slipway of 190 m long, on which there are two sites for the construction of hulls up to 12 m wide. There is also an open slipway where hulls of up to 16 m are assembled. Vessels reaching a length of 75 m are delivered to the water using a longitudinal launching device weighing 1050 tons

The plant has CNC gas-cutting plasma machines capable of cutting complex parts (up to 8 m long) from high-strength steels. Capacities allow to process 4000 tons of steel and 500 tons of aluminum per year.

Guard the motherland

Traditionally, the main customers at the Yaroslavl shipyard are power structures, the Navy, the naval units of the border troops, the FSB of Russia, the Federal Customs Service, and the Ministry of the Interior of Russia. In 1997, the Yaroslavl Shipyard was chosen for the construction of border ships. The leadership was able to convince the commander of the border troops Andrei Nikolaev that the enterprise was able to build cutting-edge ships. In fact, this saved production in the crisis 90s. Among them are boats:

  • Missile project 1241RE;
  • amphibious projects Chilim (20910), Bars (14660);
  • amphibious assault forces 21820;
  • IPC 1241-2;
  • PSKR projects 1241PE, Svetlyak (10410).

Border boat 12260

In a short time YaSZ mastered a new high-speed boat for patrolling project 12260. It was developed by the Central Marine Design Bureau Almaz. The boat with its small size is easy to operate, has excellent seaworthiness, enviable maneuverability, high speed.

Specifications:

  • displacement - 9.7 tons;
  • width - 3 m;
  • overall length - 12.9 m;
  • power reserve - 200-300 km;
  • speed over 40 knots.
