In school years, having got to the play "Eugene Grande" at the Maly Theater, Kornienko Nelli Ivanovna was shocked by the game Zerkalova, Turchaninova, Mezhinsky. And then she made a firm decision - to become an actress.
The desire was so great that in the tenth grade, having not yet received a certificate, the girl easily passed all the qualifying rounds at the Shchepkinsky school. The selection committee and the management promised to accept it after she receives a certificate and comes to take general education exams. So Kornienko Nelly Ivanovna was admitted to the theater university.
Shchepkinsky school
In the Shchepkinsky school, she got to a wonderful teacher, artist and director Konstantin Alexandrovich Zubov. Unfortunately, this was his last course, he did not teach for long, he soon passed away, but Nelli Kornienko forever left his unique personality in his memory.
She studied with pleasure, easily finished Sliver, she was already invited to the Maly Theater, but when she helped a fellow student at the Contemporary Theater at the graduation performance, she was immediately invited there too. Kornienko Nelly Ivanovna was between two fires. On the one hand is the Maly Theater, where she promised to come, and Sovremennik is an innovative, fashionable, popular, in the troupe of which she wanted to enter.
Director of the Maly Theater Mikhail Tsarev, noting the fluctuations of the talented actress, directly asked why she did not want to serve with them. The future actress sincerely replied that in the Maly Theater, young actors have to wait a long time for good roles. Tsarev promised that she would have roles. After much torment, Kornienko Nelly Ivanovna chose her native theater and did not regret it at all later.
First roles
Mikhail Tsarev, in turn, kept his word. Immediately Nelly Kornienko introduced the play “House of Cards” into the play, then to “Masquerade”, where she played Nina. And finally, in the play "Ivanov", the young actress played Sasha. This performance was staged by Boris Andreevich Babochkin. Nellie even argued with the director of the Chekhov performance. She saw her heroine different. Did Babochkin himself hesitate - to give freedom to a young actress or not to change anything in an established production? As a result, creativity won and Boris Andreyevich Babochkin allowed her to play the way she wants. After Sasha, Nelli Kornienko still played with Inna Golubeva in the production of Colleagues, and Sonya in the Gorky play Summer Residents.
Leonid Varpakhovsky
The memories of another theater director, Leonid Viktorovich Varpakhovsky, in Nelli Ivanovna evoke only good feelings. He was an extremely intelligent, attentive person. For five days, he introduced the actress to the role of Lydia in the play "Mad Money" and rehearsed with them all these days and nights. On the day when actress Kornienko Nelly Ivanovna received the title "Honored Artist", Varpakhovsky wrote grateful words to her on a postcard.
It should be noted the work of the actress with director Boris Ivanovich Ravensky, who, in fact, made her popular. In the play "Means of Makropoulos", based on the work of Chapek, Nelli Ivanovna played the main role of Emilia Marty. This work allowed the actress to show all her talent. Showing Emilia Marty in different eras, she herself changed not only externally, but also internally. Such roles are the dream of any actress.
Work in the play "Cyrano de Bergerac"
In another production of R. Kaplanyan's “Cyrano de Bergerac”, Nelly Ivanovna was supposed to play Roxanne, but the actress had doubts. After all, Roxanne is a young girl, and by that time she was already a mature woman.
The performance was grandiose with Stenberg's stylish scenery, with remarkable music of Zhurbin, with stairs rotating on wheels, with balconies and other ideas of artists. Actress Kornienko Nelly Ivanovna, whose photo can be seen in this article, had to climb balconies and stairs. She sat on a strict diet and did acrobatics, each rehearsal was like a fight. With the role of Roxanne, Nelly Kornienko coped brilliantly. About her, even Professor Razumny wrote an enthusiastic review in the journal Theatrical Life.
One cannot but recall the role of Lyubov Andreevna Ranevskaya, whom she loved very much and which she received literally as a gift. On the day she was appointed, she had a birthday. She played Ranevskaya for more than ten years, but the first rehearsals were difficult. Director Igor Ilyinsky passed away and his assistant gave the actress advice of a purely technical plan, she had to think out the rest herself.
The actress with such external data and voice was the best suited for the role of the Chekhov heroine.
Nelly Ivanovna Kornienko: films
Cinema did not become dear to Nelly Ivanovna, it was difficult for her to combine work in the theater and cinema, although at first she wanted it. Yet in several paintings this amazing woman with a unique musical voice starred.
These films are “Our Home”, “A Date with Youth”, “Scandalous Accident in Brickmill” and “Unexpected Visits”, where she played a woman returning from a concentration camp. It was a dramatic, difficult role. To enter the image of a woman who visited a concentration camp, Nelly Ivanovna read Solzhenitsyn’s novel.
Kornienko Nelly Ivanovna. Personal life
The actress met her future husband (Yuri Vasiliev) in Gelendzhik. She and her friend were resting on the sea, and suddenly her gaze met the gaze of a young man emerging from the water. It was love at first sight.
It turned out that Yuri Vasiliev is studying in Moscow at VGIK. Nelly was then a student of the Shchepkinsky school. Surely everyone remembers Vasiliev as Rodion in the film "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears." The entire female half of the Soviet Union was in love with an impressive actor. But before the premiere of the film Menshov, Yuri Vasiliev was known as the main character in the film Sergei Gerasimov "Journalist".
For the USSR, this film was a sensation; it was shot not only at home, but also in France, where Vasiliev met with Ani Girardeau and Mireille Mathieu.
Unlike the hero in the picture of Menshov, Yuri was an ideal husband and father. Their daughter Katya was born, everything went on as usual. But once Vasilyev, having come home and refused to have dinner, lay down on the bed and fell asleep. But this dream was eternal.
So the wonderful man and husband of actress Nelly Kornienko passed away. She often recalls him and says that every year the pain of loss does not subside, but is becoming stronger.
