What is diet number 5?

When we hear the word "Diet", the first thing we remember is the process of losing weight, refusing food in order to lose extra pounds: we remember various Kremlin and mono-diets, diets for 5 days, etc. However, there are a number of diets, the purpose of which is in no way associated with weight loss. Their goal is to maintain the health of the body in a given disease. It is to these diets that diet number 5 applies.

It was developed back in the Soviet Union by dietitian Mikhail Pevzner for people with diseases of the biliary tract, liver and gall bladder. These can be diseases such as cholecystitis, chronic hepatitis, acute hepatitis at the cure stage, cholelithiasis, cirrhosis of the liver, etc. In this case, the patient should not suffer from intestinal dysfunction.

Diet number 5 is aimed at protecting the liver from chemical attack, while nutrition remains complete. The same diet normalizes the work of the biliary tract. Its high efficiency is ensured by the strict restriction of products containing fats, essential oils and organic acids, but in higher amounts having fiber. Most fiber is found in vegetables and fruits, as well as in various seeds. That is why vegetable dishes prevail in this diet, in addition, dairy products are included in the diet menu No. 5.

For a day, a person on this diet eats about 60 g of fat, 100 g of protein and 500 g of carbohydrates. When converted to calories, you get about 3,000.

For an organism suffering from the above diseases, various vegetarian soups, cabbage soup, borscht, beetroots on vegetable broths will be very useful. The main thing is not to add vegetable frying to soups. It is better to chop the vegetables in advance and slightly dry. Diet number 5 has its own characteristics in the use of bread. It should be made from peeled and seeded flour. In addition, it is desirable that the bread was yesterday. It is not forbidden to use dry biscuits or cookies.

The meat is also included in the diet menu number 5. But it’s not necessarily fatty: young lamb, rabbit, veal, beef, turkey, chicken. Pre meat must be boiled, you can bake in the oven. Low-fat fish is also welcome, you can make tender soufflΓ© from it, or you can make meatballs.

Another group of products that are of great importance for the No. 5 diet menu is dairy products. In various dishes, you can add low-fat and not sharp cheese, and before going to bed, drink milk, yogurt or kefir.

Of course, diet number 5 has a huge amount of limitations, but this does not mean that it will not give a person any pleasure. Of all these products, you can easily cook a huge number of delicious and healthy dishes.

But do not forget about those products that a person who adheres to this diet is simply not allowed. And there are many of them too. You can not eat, for example, kvass, and therefore okroshka.

In addition, it is forbidden to eat meat, fish and mushroom broths, as well as green cabbage soup, fresh bread, muffins, puff pastry and fried pies. Naturally, it is necessary to exclude smoked meats, most sausages, salted fish, fatty meat from the diet. Goose and duck with this diet are also not welcome. Fatty dairy products also should not be consumed by people who are shown this diet. Sorrel, green onions, pickled vegetables, radishes, chocolate, caviar, mustard ice cream, horseradish and other savory sauces - all these products should be excluded from the menu with diet No. 5. Of course, alcohol is also contraindicated.

Diet 5: Menu.

Breakfast: porridge with milk, low-fat cottage cheese with sour cream and sugar, tea.

Second breakfast: baked apples.

Lunch: vegetable soup, baked chicken, boiled rice, compote.

Snack: rosehip infusion.

Dinner: mashed potatoes, boiled fish, tea with cheesecakes.

And a glass of tender kefir before bedtime.
