There are things in the world that are sacredly stored and especially revered by all people or a certain group. Typically, each such item is associated with historical events of past times. A relic is something that can unite entire nations around any idea expressed in a similar way in an objective context. Usually such a thing is sacredly stored, sometimes it is even worshiped.
The meaning of the word "relics"
The concept itself came from the Latin verb "stay", which determines its generally accepted meaning. According to the classification of relics can be divided into religious, historical, family, technical. In any case, a relic is a thing deeply revered, requiring a careful and even reverent attitude.
Historical
These are, as a rule, documents - evidence of events that have occurred in the history of mankind . In any major museum, they are present in the exhibits. A historical relic is a battle banner, an ancient manuscript, a manuscript. They also include all kinds of regalia of power, the seal of kings, nobles and states, clothing of rulers, military weapons of various eras. For example, the well-known Monomakh Hat. Many religions have existed in the world. Each of them has its own relics. Inside a religion, a religious cult may even form that is associated with some kind of relic. So, the Holy Grail in Christianity served as the occasion for the formation of the Order of the Crusaders - the guardians of this relic. It exists to this day. Among these relics of the main world religions are the Wailing Wall, Spear of Fate, and the Tooth of the Buddha.
Christian
The most famous in our part of the world are Christian relics. These are objects stored and revered by believers related to the life of saints, Christ, and prophets. They are of varying degrees of importance (some are even definitely questioned) and are usually stored in specially designated places - reliquaries. In Catholicism, these are fragments of the cross on which the Savior was crucified, the sandals of Jesus, the shroud of Peter, the relics of saints. In Orthodoxy, a relic is a nail from the Cross of the Lord, part of the Robe of Our Lady, part of the Robe of Christ and the crown of thorns. The relics of saints and some icons, which are sometimes myrrh, tear, and bleed, foreshadowing various kinds of events, as pilgrims believe, have also become objects of worship.
Technical
These include, for example, copies of machines and mechanisms of past eras that have long been no longer used in modern life. As a rule, they were kept by collectors and are in working condition for the purpose of study and training. You can find them in private collections and in museums. These are old cars, typewriters, steam locomotives, steamboats, watches and the like.
Family
A heirloom is another species according to the generally accepted classification. Family documents include all sorts of documents, objects, valuables, and other valuables handed down from generation to generation, from generation to generation by inheritance. These are family jewels, press materials about famous family members, a family tree, photographs, a family tree. In the old noble (and not only) families, such objects and information were traditionally preserved, considered by descendants of family relics and being sacred values ββwithin the same family.
