Modern series about the USSR: a list of the best

While the people who were born in the Soviet Union are still alive , the longing for the permanently lost homeland will not pass and will not dry out, and modern TV series about the USSR help to maintain this nostalgia. The list is long, since filmmakers remove something similar to Soviet life almost constantly.

Demand

Viewers really like to re-watch the old cinema, but because of this demand, they also meet, restoring Soviet paintings. For example, the black and white series “Seventeen Moments of Spring” we recently watched in color. Here, opinions differ whether it was necessary to “color” old films. Most people prefer the old, classic black and white version.

Based on popular series in the past, sequels and prequels are filmed, but, oddly enough, they almost instantly become obsolete, unlike the "canon". Modern series about the USSR (their list is quite impressive) are very fond of today's youth. That is why they turn out to be extremely rated. And this despite the fact that from the list of modern series about the USSR, a very rare movie offers a fairly reliable picture.

Modernized past

Cinema often gives the viewer an embellished everyday picture of the past, one in which the past time looks so good that nostalgia is inevitable. This is a more correct option, since this is the function of art. People should not only respect their past, but also be proud of it. Modern series about the USSR, the list of which is replenished every year, offer us frankly “fried”, hypertrophied facts of the Soviet era.

However, interestingly, even young people are critical of such series, to put it mildly. Of course, there were things that do not leave anyone indifferent, clearly cause disgust, contempt, and hatred. However, the facts of history must not be biased. And with the advent of such solid, high-quality TV shows as “Mysterious Passion” (based on the novel by V. Aksyonov), “Orlova and Aleksandrov”, fierce debates resumed, even to the point of brawl among the young intelligentsia of the country.

True and false

Opinions were divided from "All this is true!" to “This is a falsification of history!”, however, even there the everyday side of life is very beautiful, pure and full of hope, here everyone agrees. Series about the USSR about the times of Brezhnev's stagnation show life in "stagnation" even more positively. Even the mystical thriller - the series "Chernobyl. Exclusion Zone" finds many signs that are characteristic only of the cloudless time of the early eighties. For example, a completely unfamiliar guy who undertook to fix a car that broke down on the road incorrectly answered the question of our contemporary: "How much?" He replied: "Well, maybe two hours." Now it's fantastic. And then it was true.

Relations between people were built on a completely free basis. But these are far from all the series about the USSR. In fact, there is a lot of untruth in them. Slithering words, completely unusual for that time, and sometimes outwardly the characters look too our way. If they had expressed their current point of view regarding the historical situation, they would have shouted in the face more than once. The freedom to love is not at all what is now understood by this word.

People big and small

"You - to me, I - to you" - the proverb is more likely "crocodile" than the one that existed in real life. All the factories and plants worked, the cities of the city-forming enterprises flourished, you could walk at night and not be afraid of anyone, the children went to school calmly, and did homework on their own ... Around the enterprises, their own farms, greenhouses and greenhouses functioned, providing the simplest but good nutrition for their workers. Is this not freedom? Honest series about life in the USSR always reflect reality. The vast majority of people strive for a normal and measured life, performing a civic duty when the country requires it, and most importantly, a purely human duty: to create a family, raise children, build a house, plant a tree.

And in this sense, the series shot about the USSR today show us almost such a past. That is why they are attractive. That is why they have the highest ratings. Talking about the life of significant people for the country, filmmakers are very attentive to the details and background characters. We see a lot of ordinary people with their everyday lives, small aspirations and in the series about the director of the Yeliseyevsky deli in Moscow ("Case of deli No. 1"), and about the Minister of Culture ("Furtseva"), and even about the daughter L.I. Brezhnev ("Galina"). And the series “Marshal Zhukov” and “Zykina” are especially rich in such details about ordinary people who will leave this nostalgia for Soviet times alive forever. And many more many Russian series about the USSR are constantly in production.

"These eyes are opposite."

On the first channel in 2015, the series-film-biography about the wonderful singer Valeria Obodzinsky was a triumph. His songs will live forever, which confirmed the exceptional success of this serial film. It seems that everyone was watching “these eyes opposite”, even those who have absolutely no modern TV in their house. There, too, of course, not all truth and not all truth. A story about the singer appeared on the air in a very strange way, the main thing is unexpected. We all know that not all series about the times of the USSR, and not only about this time, are equally in demand. In this case, the nostalgic picture replaced the detective with Ivan Okhlobystin, who broke off in the first third of the second season.

Freud’s Method suddenly lost its audience, and the series’s rating dropped to ten percent across Russia. This is not too often, but still happens on television. At the very beginning of 2015, the project "Shot" (about the provincial biathlon) was also taken off the air in mid-sentence. Only series about the times of the USSR could help out here, the list of which is growing more and more every year. And the replacement of the "Freud" shot! Stars of the Soviet era like no other excite the public, here complete success is definitely guaranteed. In the series "These Eyes Opposite" shows one of the most lyrical singers that have ever existed in the country. Odessa, who escaped from home at the age of sixteen, when the voice was just starting to sound real. Recognizable from a million, truly golden voice.

What do TV series teach

In the Soviet system, it was necessary to act only within the framework of the law. Then it meant nothing - you are a genius or a talent, you had to live by certain rules. Now there is no this - and what, has it become better? Obodzinsky, like a real Odessa citizen, wanted to earn a little more than the State Concert pays. But there it was. This is not permissible. And the dislike of officials seems justified.

And the good song “The battle begins again”, which Obodzinsky allegedly refused to sing, is not at fault, because the patriotic theme is not his role. In those days, zeal was condemned by the law, and the law condemned everyone equally, regardless of the position in society and the degree of talent. And this, albeit implicitly, even modern series about the USSR show.

There will be more!

The end of the fifties in the series "These eyes are opposite" is reflected fairly. A young and very talented boy on the Odessa beach entertains the resting Soviet public with his magical songs. The audience is so delighted that they don’t notice how the singer’s accomplices empty their pockets. Good career start. And then his parents appeared with a decision to send the boy to the police school for correction. And that’s it. I can’t believe it anymore. So all eight episodes: I believe, I do not believe. However, almost the entire list of series about life in the USSR leaves the same feeling.

However, this series is interesting, despite some inaccuracy. In any case, Obodzinsky is a legend; he is forever a resident of the Soviet Union, no matter how he relates to the country. The singer earned himself the status on his own. He left the stage very early, in the mid-eighties, still to sing and sing, in order to at least slightly resist the new wave of idols that absolutely did not correspond to the left talents, which subsequently occupied the whole stage of the country. And the departed are Gil. This is Miansarova. This is Mulerman. This is Magomayev. And a lot more. It would be very good to replenish the list of Russian series about the USSR, especially since they are provided with a rating.

Personality and history of the country

In the series "These Eyes Opposite" the authors have done a lot to ensure that people remember not so much the long history of the country with a slight nostalgia. We used the archives collected by the daughters of the early deceased Valery Obodzinsky, many memoirs and, most importantly, the authentic records made by the singer himself. That is, nobody was invited to the series with a similar voice. Props should also be noted as assembled qualitatively. But still, all this at the end of the viewing seems insufficient. The bad thing is that all the series about the USSR, filmed in our time, as if done under one carbon copy. The reality that existed then seems fresh to us, too smooth, too linear. Especially after the country survived these frenzied nineties.

And because the movies are built on a single pattern - confrontation is added as a red thread for the sharpness of the plot. The main character usually confronts everything that moves: parents, women (or men, if the main character is a heroine), officials, law and so on, you can continue indefinitely. Reception for television films has recently become standard. This is where the main discrepancy with the spirit of the times comes from. For there were so few confrontations that the people did not notice them. It was calm. There was a desire to help and meet almost a hundred percent of cases of the development of relations. The series "These Eyes Opposite" is built in almost the same way as everyone else, and this is insulting. Although in this case such a course of action can be justified: Valery Obodzinsky really wanted to sing only about the eyes, which are opposite.

Modern standard

Typically female series - about fashion models, dancers, actresses ... We need to make a series about a crane operator or a bricklayer, at worst, about an accountant, but according to modern concepts, we get chernukha again. But the life of the Soviet Union was not at all for crane operators and accountants! This bohemia is always dissatisfied with its own status; among musicians, artists, and writers, there were constant intrigues with anonymous letters and “hooking up”. Although the Soviet bohemia from the modern was significantly different. There was no such saying: "Nothing personal, only business."

Today’s girls watch the twelve episodes of the Red Queen with amazement and indescribable sympathy for the heroine of the story: was there really so many meetings, commissions, censorship in those days? No, there weren’t exactly that many. Admiration for high-quality costumes, beautiful actresses, complaints of boredom in many episodes and, as always, the standard plot construction. This is the third or fourth series about fashion models of the Soviet Union, and all the paintings look like twins. The basis is probably taken by the "Gloss" of Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky and, perhaps, "The Devil Wears Prada" by Frenkel.

Cult TV Series

Even the best Russian TV series about the USSR contain a whole set of mandatory stamps. The Soviet past in the work of the excellent director A. Mitta “Border. Taiga novel” would have been shown quite reliably if we had not been bothered again: this infernal “gebnya” (which certainly very few people saw at that time), this poetry of the officer’s dressing , this is barracks friendship, this pathos with words like “duty”, “Fatherland”, “feat” (such words did not sound in vain in Soviet times), and all the same, through all the blown pathos, a mandatory breakthrough is made for some kind of mythical will. But a lot, a lot of good things were added to this series, most people even remembered the smells of yard childhood.

However, with such a systematic (and possibly opportunistic) approach, even to the recent historical past, the viewer's attitude cannot be completely positive. He does not just feel - he knows the truth, because he lived with it, and then he transferred much of his own experience to his children and grandchildren. Due to the selection of certain stamps, the real time itself is pumped out of the series along with air. When everything is predictable, when the viewer sees this KGB officer in at least the fifteenth film, and he seems to say the same words - where, tell me, will the spirit of the era come from in the series?

Revolution or World War II?

The revolution and the Civil War - the themes for the series are uncomfortable, since there is a real danger of receiving questions from the viewer: "And where is social justice, where is it?" Therefore, probably, we hardly see any series about that turbulent time. But the theme of the thirty-seventh year already makes corns on our eyes bleed, so one-sided, so stamped, so dishonest, and even presented to us too abundantly. In recent years, filmmakers almost no longer torment the viewer with this topic. But films about the Great Patriotic War are becoming more and more popular.

There are prerequisites that soon the spectator will vomit from this great topic. Because here, too, TV men do not master enormous sacred meanings, but polish all the same clichés, all the same offer tricks. The beginning was apparently made by Nikita Mikhalkov. Next was the series “Shtrafbat”, after which the people had to reflect on the war as it should: the homeland is not a stepmother, this regime brings all the troubles. Homeland is presented so that soon its feeling in each person stands at the level of instinct. And after the release of this television movie, the clones went. "Detachment", "Black sheep" ...

From the viewer

The era is, sorry, not furniture, not a clean texture. Much more is needed here. “Chonkin” is generally implausible (even keep silent that the film has moved so far from the original work that they cannot see each other). The devaluation of historical experience, its great meaning, is happening in order to make everyone reconcile with everyone?

Oh, dear filmmakers, this is generally unusual for humanity, it is against its nature. We certainly need to see where is black, and where is white, where is truth, and where is false, where is good, and where is evil. And no humor can replace this product.
