Athletics is the most popular sport to date. Most parents from an early age give their child to run, jump, etc. But just like in any other occupation, there are certain steps that a person goes through as he progresses. Such steps are called athletics categories.

Women's athletics categories are slightly different from the standards for the stronger sex. So, in order to get the third digit in the run of 50 meters, it is necessary to overcome the distance in 7.7 s. A second discharge at the same distance is given if the running time is 7.3 s. And in the case when the athlete ran faster than 6.9 s, then the first category in athletics is assigned.

The first youth category among men can be obtained by running the shortest distance of 50 meters in 7 seconds. But 5000 meters is already necessary to overcome in no more than 19 minutes. Girls need to run the same distances in 8.2 s and 23 minutes, respectively. Then the first category in athletics is provided to them.

Corresponding tables exist for the other varieties of athletics (walking, jumping, hammer throwing).

It should be remembered that the I youth category can only be obtained up to 18 years, the second youth category can be earned up to 16 years, and the age threshold for the third is 14 years.

Athletics allows you to get and with participation in the all-around. These competitions include a complex of varieties of this sport. Also, in individual versions, all-around is divided into female and male. Accordingly, the requirements for women are more lenient.
