Passive aggression
One of the most inveterate characters is passive-aggressive. Such a person is a real test in life. He will never say openly what is the cause of anger, as if others should read his mind. The main feature of such a person is suppressed anger - it is he who in most cases is the cause of a bad character. Psychology has long been engaged in the study of such people.
But you don’t need to be seven spans in your forehead to understand: the aggressor is full of anger, resentment, but often he is not able or does not have the desire to correctly express his emotions. Instead, it will slam the door, "forget" about the deadlines for the completion of work, "do not have time" to meet another from the airport. Passive aggressors are natural manipulators. Their favorite phrase is “Do as you know”; and the favorite psychological “buttons” are pity and guilt. For a passive aggressor to express directly their desires is unrealistic. "Punishment" of others passivity
Passive aggression can manifest itself in the form of silence. A harmful person, who is a passive aggressor, is angry inside himself, does not say anything to a friend or relative. He is silently and “heroically” suffering. In psychology, it is believed that passive aggression can also manifest itself in relation to itself. For example, a mother is angry that her teenage daughter did not come home at 10, but at midnight. However, since she does not want to be angry in the open, provoking a conflict, her emotions turn into a channel of destruction of health. A mother can get sick, for example, she will have a heart attack. Thus, the daughter will be "punished." It is unlikely that after that she will have enough conscience not to come home on time.
There are other options for passive aggression of this kind. The wife, offended by her husband for some reason, goes to bed on the floor. The husband, after hearing scandalous claims, goes to the balcony in winter without clothes. The mother, who asked the children to help and when she heard the refusal, said she would do the gardening herself - and then tear her back. Such behavior is in fact shown by people with the most extreme character. It would seem that such motives are driven by better motives. But in reality, a person is full of resentment, aggression and a desire to punish another.
Psychopaths
This is truly a nasty character. The psychopath does not feel the pain of other people. He has practically nothing to fear. At times, he may seem completely insensitive. In childhood, such people torment animals. A relative of the psychopath, or spouse, may constantly experience fear that every quarrel with this person will be the last. Such a person turns any situation in his favor - so that others feel guilty. If someone from his environment is mistaken, this is a tragedy of universal proportions. If he is mistaken, this is a trifle, which you should not think about.
To those people who do not like him, the psychopath always ascribes a nasty character and a couple of psychiatric diagnoses in addition. All his enemies without exception are “crazy,” “alcoholics,” “loafers.” Only in this, the psychopath is convinced, is the reason why these people do not like it and avoid it in all ways.
Impudence
Often people with the most nasty character are insolent. Such a person is real impudent and shameless. He is not embarrassed by his rudeness. Rather, on the contrary, the insolent will feel at a height if he leads another person out of himself. In some cases, assertiveness can have a positive connotation - if the emphasis is on self-confidence. However, not in the case of an impudent person with a foul character, who is distinguished by complete inconsideracy.
Such people can "test" their worth, humiliating other people. He shows arrogance precisely in order to assert himself once more, to prove to himself that he means something. Sometimes such people deliberately provoke a scandal. Even if their victim first tries to maintain composure, they ultimately still achieve their vile goal.
Whiners
In fact, the whiner is no less harmful person than, for example, a psychopath. It seems to such a person that everyone around should listen to him and try to solve the barrage of problems that constantly falls on him. Even if everything is good in the life of a whiner, he will still find bad moments in the surrounding reality.
Examples of harmful and good nature in the literature
In the literature, there are many examples of negative characters with negative character traits. For example, this is the old woman-percussionist from Dostoevsky’s novel Crime and Punishment.
