On our television annually there are many TV shows, in the center of the plot of which are law enforcement officers. Often these people have to risk their own lives in order to ensure the safety of ordinary citizens. Considering the fact that about five dozens of successful episodes have been accumulated, it is becoming increasingly difficult to come up with an original story every year that would stand out from the crowd. However, the creators of "Ment in Law" (the genre is a crime detective) did it. In this article, we will analyze in detail this popular television project.
"The cop in law": the plot
Events unfold on the territory of one of the police departments, in which many law enforcement officers work. The plot focuses on major Stepan Krucha, who has repeatedly risked his own life over the course of his long career to capture especially dangerous criminals, who are becoming more and more on the streets every year. More often than not, Steeper had to deal with falsifications of court cases, as a result of which attackers were released. However, the major was not going to put up with such a development of events. And as soon as the next bandit was released, Stepan Krucha immediately set to work.
Krucha is far from the only dedicated police officer. His team also includes no less honest police officers Fedot Komov and Roma Lozova. Thanks to their help, Stepan Kruche repeatedly managed to solve cases. The protagonist can trust his own life with these confidence to these people. But soon a new criminal authority appears in the city, which plans to crank up a big deal. And only a team of brave policemen could stop the series of bloody atrocities of a bandit.

"The cop in law": director
The director's chair in this project was taken immediately by two directors - Stas Egerev and Sergey Popov. Stas Egerev has much less experience in both cinema and television. So it is not surprising that in the end Sergey Popov, who was more famous in television circles, was assigned to him.
Popov began his career back in the middle of the last century. Thanks to his talent, he quickly gained the trust of the producers. They began to trust him with such large projects as Prime Time Goddess and Icon Hunters. Each of these series had high ratings, so Sergey Popov’s career quickly skyrocketed. Moreover, the director worked not only on TV, but also on the big screen. Among his feature films, the recent "Road to Berlin" stands out. This war drama was timed to Victory Day 2015. At that time, many directors tried to leave their mark and make a decent war movie. And Sergey Popov managed to create one of the brightest examples of the genre of recent years. Recommended for viewing to all, without exception!

Cast
In the series "Ment in Law," the actors starred mainly experienced, well-established in other television series. So they easily managed to show their talent in this series. We present to your attention the most prominent actors of the "Ment in Law".
Sergey Plotnikov
The main role of Major Kruchi was brilliantly performed by Honored Artist of Russia Sergey Plotnikov. He was not the first time to play in projects of such a plan. However, it was precisely in the role of Kruchi that he was remembered by the modern viewer. As a result, the actor returned in this image as much as 6 more times. Largely thanks to his game, the series “Ment in Law” received such serious spectator success.
Sergei Plotnikov was born on June 9, 1962 in Leningrad. His father was also an actor. So it is not surprising that in the end Sergey decided to follow in the footsteps of his famous father. However, it was far from immediately that the young man managed to enter the Moscow Art Theater School. For a long time he struggled with the wrong bite, and also developed his talent. And only after serving in the army, Sergei was able to realize his plan.
In 1990, the aspiring actor graduated from the Moscow Art Theater without much difficulty, after which he almost immediately began trying to get roles in the cinema. Sergey Plotnikov’s career began in 1992 with the mini-series Racket. However, this project did not bring fame to the actor. The situation was complicated by the fact that the country only recently experienced a serious shock, as a result of which the Soviet Union collapsed. So in many cities unemployment reigned, as a result of which even the actors could not find themselves worthy roles. The same fate befell Plotnikov. For several years, he only got his chance three times. But the roles were insignificant and did not allow revealing their talent. And only in 2000, the actor was able to become famous by playing in several successful projects at once. It was the "Ment in Law" that became a real breakthrough for Plotnikov.

Alexander Andrienko
Alexander Andrienko is no less well-known film and television actor. Unlike his colleague in the workshop, Andrienko began to get roles back in the 80s of the last century. However, like Plotnikov, the actor also could not fully express himself for a long period of time. With the development of television, he began to appear a chance to play more prominent characters. It happened in the early 2000s.
Alexander Andrienko appeared in such projects as Turetsky’s March, Antikiller 2, My Fair Nanny, and Opera: Chronicles of the Slaughter Department. However, all these were secondary or one-time roles. And only after participating in the detective series "Ment in Law" they started talking about him as a successful artist on TV. The role of Filippov in the series "The Ment in the Law" was given to Alexander Andrienko without much difficulty. Thanks to the accumulated experience, he quickly was able to make a proper impression on the directors, instantly get used to a new image for himself. Since then, Alexander Andrienko has appeared on the screens about 30-40 times.

Mikhail Babichev
One of the assistants to the protagonist was played by another remarkable actor Mikhail Babichev. He got the role of Fedot Komov, which we can watch on the screen throughout each series. Mikhail Babichev is a young actor who has not yet managed to become a recognizable person among the people. However, the role of Komov was given to Mikhail easily. In the image of a policeman, the actor "Menta in Law" showed himself beyond all praise, perfectly complementing the story, becoming a key figure in the development of the storyline.
Alexander Vasilevsky
The secondary role of William was played by Alexander Vasilevsky. He has also repeatedly appeared on television screens, now and then getting episodic or secondary roles. Unfortunately, the directors do not see him as a big star, despite all the efforts of the actor. It is for this reason that they do not give him the opportunity to try his own strength in leading roles. The last more or less notable project in Vasilevsky’s career was the TNT series Chernobyl, which received many positive reviews from critics and viewers. However, the actor was allocated very little screen time. For this very reason, since 2015, Alexander Vasilevsky has practically not been removed. One can only hope that someday he will receive his hour of glory.
Reviews
As you know, impressing a modern audience with a classic Russian series is not so simple. Young viewers want as many spectacular chases and shootings as possible, while older adults prefer a high-quality drama line and an original plot. So the creators of the series "Ment in Law" were not in the simplest situation. Despite some hackneyedness of the idea embedded in the project, they still managed to please the viewers. Many of them note that in the series "Ment in Law", the actors coped with their task perfectly, perfectly got used to the images of their heroes. Also, the brilliant game of the protagonist, who literally eclipsed everyone on the screen with his charisma, was repeatedly noted.
The reviews indicate high-quality camera work and direction by the standards of our days. Naturally, the creators of the series failed to surpass such classics of the genre as "Gangster Petersburg" and "Streets of Broken Lights". Despite this, they nevertheless pleased us with worthy serial films. Crime detective is one of the favorite genres of domestic directors. It should be noted that many Russian TV shows attract attention, they are not ashamed to watch and revise.
