Pentaxim is a vaccine that is an adsorbed vaccine that protects the body from whooping cough, polio, diphtheria, and tetanus. Release form - bottles with syringes (1 or 20 pieces each).
Indications
"Pentaxim" - a vaccine aimed at the prevention of the above diseases, as well as
hemophilic infection (Haemophilus influenzae). It is indicated for children over two months of age. Against meningitis of other etiologies, as well as against infections caused by other types of Hib, immunity is not formed.
Composition
One dose of the drug contains:
- toxoid: 30 IU of diphtheria, 40 IU of tetanus, 25 mcg of pertussis;
- filamentous hemagglutinin - 25 mcg;
- polio viruses of the first type - 40 units a / g, of the second type - 8 units a / g, of the third type - 32 units a / g;
- excipients (Hanks medium, aluminum hydroxide, formaldehyde, sodium hydroxide, phenoxyethanol), without phenol red.
The dose of lyophilisate includes polysaccharides of Haemophilus influenzae (B) conjugated with a tetanus toxoid (10 μg) and excipients (trometamol, sucrose).
The suspension is white, cloudy. It is administered intramuscularly.
Contraindications
"Pentaxim" - a vaccination contraindicated in:
- progressive encephalopathy;
- developed encephalopathy after the introduction of the vaccine (any);
- a strong reaction that developed 48 hours after previous vaccinations containing the pertussis component (high fever, cramps, unusual prolonged crying syndrome, hypotonic syndrome);
- Allergies to previous
vaccines against poliomyelitis, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis;
- confirmation of a systemic hypersensitivity reaction to any of the listed vaccine ingredients, polymyxin B, neomycin, glutaraldehyde, streptomycin;
- acute manifestations of infectious diseases;
- elevated temperature;
- the presence of chronic diseases.
Application
"Pentaxim" - a vaccine that is administered only intramuscularly (not intravenously and not subcutaneously!), Usually in the middle third of the thigh surface (anterolateral), from 3 months. The prepared suspension is used immediately. The full course of vaccination includes three injections (dose of 0.5 ml, interval from a month to two (no more)).
