N. Karachentsov, whose filmography for the most part consists of films of Soviet cinema classics, is one of the most talented Russian actors in the second half of the 20th century. The early years and early careers

Nikolai Karachentsov is a native Muscovite. His father worked as a graphic artist, and his mother worked as a choreographer. In such a creative family, a gifted child must have been born - it happened.

Nicholas grew up an artistic boy. He showed interest in music. In high school, Kolya became addicted to amateur theater and took an active part in amateur performances.

After a series of now little-known films (“The Eldest Son”, “The Magic Lantern”), Nikolai Karachentsov received a prominent role in the musical comedy by Jan Fried “Dog in the Hay”. It was 1977, and Karachentsov played the Marquis of Ricardo, in love with Countess Diana.

In 79, the actor appeared in one of the series of the famous film "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson." Karachentsov played the elusive avenger Indian Jefferson Hope in a series called Bloody Inscription. The role of Sherlock Holmes in this film was played by Vasily Livanov, Dr. Watson was played by Vitaly Solomin.

The film “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson” is worth seeing if only because the British themselves recognized this adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's works as the best of all existing, and Livanov himself was awarded the Order of the British Empire.

The 80s began for the actor with work on the legendary performance of Mark Zakharov "Juno and Avos." Initially, Nikolai Karachentsov played Count Rezanov (the main role) in the theatrical version of the rock opera, which was shown on the stage of Lenkom. However, the play was so popular that in 1983 its television version was created. Subsequently, this opera was seen by Pierre Cardin and contributed to its popularization in France. Soon the troupe "Lenkoma" and, of course, Karachentsov went on a European tour, showing "Juno and Avos" on the best theatrical stages of the USA, Germany and Holland.

What is it about in the rock opera Juno and Avos? Karachentsov plays in the production of Count Rezanov, who in 1806 leads two ships of the same name to the shores of America. Its purpose is to establish trade relations between California and the Russian Empire. In California, Rezanov has an affair with the daughter of a famous Spanish colonist. They secretly get married in spite of all the gossip, but Rezanov needs to go on the return trip. The beloved promises the count that he will wait for his return. She had been waiting for him for thirty years, not even suspecting that Rezanov had died on the way to Russia.

To this day, musical hits from the opera - "I Will Never Forget" and "Song of the Sailors" are very popular.
