After receiving a medical education, a young nurse experimented with various ingredients in order to make ointments and creams. However, the development of cosmetic art began in 1908, when she moved to New York. Having replenished the store of knowledge, Florence after 2 years opened her own beauty salon. To stand out among competitors, the girl painted the front door of her establishment in bright red color and came up with a more sonorous name - "Elizabeth Arden".
In 1916, the brand was considered the leader among the most prestigious body and skin care salons in the United States. Florence popularized the use of cosmetics. After 5 years, a salon was opened in Paris, where they later created the first waterproof mascara. In addition, it was she who invented the world's first SPA.
