Martin Jiranek is the Czech central defender, who did not achieve particularly impressive successes at the European level, but was remembered by Russian fans. After all, he played for one of the leading clubs in Russia, and now he plays in the Russian championship. Martin Jiranek, however, began his career, naturally, not in Russia, but in his homeland, in the Czech Republic.
Carier start
For a long time, a little boy Martin spent in the football school of the Radotinsky club, but at the age of fifteen he moved to the Czech capital of Prague to the Bohemians youth team, with which he signed his first professional contract at eighteen. Martin Jiranek spent three seasons at this club, having played 55 matches, after which the much more serious Czech club Slovan noticed his young talent. It was there that the 20-year-old guy went to try to achieve great success. Martin Jiranek has already demonstrated good performance, so many have argued that he will eventually move to one of the clubs in Europe’s strongest leagues, and will not stay in the Czech Republic.
Speeches for Slovan
And the predictions that Martin Jiranek, whose biography was just beginning to be written, will be in the European top league, came true. In Slovan, the defender spent only a season and a half, during which he played 32 matches. With his performances, he naturally attracted the attention of more serious clubs playing in the leading leagues of Europe. Of course, we are not talking about Madrid “Real” or Munich “Bavaria” - the level of defender was not so high. But in the winter of 2001, the 22-year-old player moved to the Italian Serie B, where Regina signed a contract with him, having paid a little more than a million euros for him. So Jiranek took a step up a step, starting his journey into serious football. But before that, he managed to take the Czech Cup with his Czech club - one of the few trophies in his career.
Going to Regina
In Regina, Jiranek spent three and a half years, immediately gaining a place at the base. Largely thanks to the defender's talents, the club was able to get into Serie A in 2002, the highest Italian division. For all the time, Jiranek played exactly one hundred matches at the club, after which his skills attracted the attention of the Moscow Spartak, who paid three and a half million euros for a 25-year-old Czech. So Martin found his club, in which he spent the best years of his career.
Performances for Spartak
The transition took place in the summer, when in most football championships there is a break for the main transfer window, but in Russia the season is a little different, so the middle of the season is in the summer. Jiranek, despite the fact that he came to the club in the middle of his performances in the championship, immediately got a place at the base and did not lose it almost never during the six years that he spent in the Moscow club. But this period was far from the best for the once great club, so Jiranek did not win a single trophy. Four times Spartak was in second place in the Russian championship, once went to the final of the Russian Cup, once to the final of the Russian Super Cup, but was never able to win. Therefore, in 2010, the 31-year-old defender left the club without having acquired a single trophy - he signed a one-year contract with the English Birmingham, which paid six hundred thousand euros for it.
Birmingham Trophy
This is amazing, but after six years at Spartak and the complete absence of trophies, the first year at Birmingham - and Jiranek acquired the English League Cup. But it is worth noting that he practically did not play - he spent only sixteen matches for the entire season. Therefore, the contract with him was not renewed, and the player returned to Russia.
Return to Russia
One of the reasons Jiranek Martin returned to Russia is the footballer's wife. She fully supported him in everything, pushed him to fulfill his dream - a game in the English Premier League. And even if it didn’t turn out as good as we would like, Martin was absolutely happy. The personal life of Martin Jiranek began to take shape precisely in Russia, where he met his wife Anna Demchenko. And he returned to Russia because he loved his wife and this country. He signed a two-year contract with the Grozny Terek, for which he eventually won 49 matches, after which he moved to Tom, which he still stands for. He moved to the club in 2013, and then “Tom” flew into the second league, which did not push Martin away. He already has 57 games for this club, but his contract expires this summer, so a big decision lies ahead - whether to extend the agreement or end his career, because Jiranek is already 37 years old.
