The surname Boyarsky is known throughout the CIS, but in St. Petersburg it acquires a special sound. How many representatives of the Boyarsky dynasty brought glory to the domestic theater and cinema! However, there are no less famous namesakes who also live in this city and also brought glory to the Russian film industry, in which there are now two Alexander Boyarsky.
One of the famous Russian theater dynasties
One of them, Boyarsky Alexander Sergeevich (1938-1980), belongs to the famous theatrical dynasty. He is the elder brother of the famous Mikhail Boyarsky. After the divorce of his parents, Alexander stayed with his mother and since 1947 lived in Riga. From 1967 to 1980, he starred in 6 films of the Leningrad and Riga film studios. He died in an accident in Bulgaria during a tour of his theater. The founder of the glorious dynasty of Leningrad actors was also Alexander Boyarsky (1885-1937), a bishop, later Metropolitan of Ivanovo and Kinesham. He was shot in 1937.
Another Boyarsky Alexander
Film lovers and admirers of the famous Leningrad theater dynasty certainly know and remember this actor, but now Alexander Boyarsky’s name and surname are more associated with the head of the Mill studio, because there are few people in the CIS countries who are not familiar with his studio and her products. His work deserves the kindest words. Who does not know Luntik? Everyone, like Uncle Stepa, knew him.
The first steps of the studio
This project was launched by Alexander Boyarsky, whose biography is completely unknown. In one article, they said that he was 45 years old. Higher education received at the Leningrad Institute of Film Engineers, which he graduated in 1987. All other messages relate only to his work. Maybe that’s right. They lived before and had no idea how tall he was, what diet, who was his wife. There are also no reports of his belonging to the famous Leningrad dynasty. However, there are many detailed messages about creativity - that’s good.
15 years is a term!
Using simple arithmetic calculations, it can be calculated that Alexander Boyarsky started the creation of the main (at the moment) his brainchild at the age of 30, because this year marks the 15th anniversary of the Mill Studio. This is the deadline. Especially considering the brilliant results its creators achieved. Without belittling the merits of other domestic, especially St. Petersburg, animators (a large studio "Petersburg"), not being afraid of beautiful words, we can say that the "Mill" team revived the domestic animation and returned it to its former glory. And this is not an exaggeration. Children's series about the Luntik and the Barboskins, the “hero cycle”, the cartoon about Karlika Nose - everything is in love and demand.
Two cartoons about Ivan Tsarevich and Gray Wolf are the rental leaders. Films quote, as the best Soviet cartoons used to quote, for example, all the heroes of Winnie the Pooh.
Sow good, reasonable, eternal ...
Alexander Boyarsky is a producer, screenwriter, artist and just a devotee of his craft. Today's largest studio producing animated films, created by him and his associates from scratch and without state support. This is a fully commercial project. And it is all the more pleasant to state the fact that the authors did not give up one iota of the principles of high morality, an integral part of Soviet animation. Russian animators produce good, witty and unbecoming films. And at the same time, the products pay off, making a profit, which allowed us to turn a modest studio into a large modern enterprise with a permanent staff of 300 people. All are high-class specialists who are passionate about their work.
The highest level of employees
The anniversary "Mill" will celebrate in a new building that meets modern professional requirements. Leaders can attract the stars of domestic cinema to collaborate. It should be noted that since the inception of the studio, a world-class animation star, Konstantin Bronzit, has been working in it. He is not known to the general public only because his masterpieces, which received all conceivable and inconceivable world-class awards, were never shown to domestic viewers, they were never told about in popular programs. The studio values and is proud of it.
Studio birth
And it all began more than modestly - with the small Midi-Cinema, a small recording studio founded in 1992 together with Valentin Vasenkov. In 1999, an animation studio "Mill" was created to fulfill the order of the NTV channel for the release of a 4-episode film about the Emerald City. They didn’t look ahead, they gave the first name that came to mind - “Midi-Cinema” was located on Mill Street. Contracts with draftsmen concluded temporary. To get the necessary money, they earned money as musicians - Alexander Boyarsky played bass. This is another feature that speaks of the extraordinary and versatility of nature. Four episodes of "Adventures in the Emerald City" were released, but were not continued. And if this work cannot be called very successful, but it did not disappoint the creators, but became the beginning of the path. Films began to be released one after another, and each of the subsequent ones was more successful than the previous one. The ideas of films began to be sent by mail - from Dnepropetrovsk student Maxim Sveshnikov sent a funny story about Alyosha Popovich. The cartoon about Ilya Muromets was a breakthrough in box office. And the Shamakhan queen paid back all the expenses made earlier.
Domestic animation is the best in the world
For subsequent animated films "Mills" in cinemas began to allocate evening sessions. Young people went to these cartoons. The products of the country's most successful and largest animation studio overtake advertised American films at the box office . For example, The Hobbits. In the press there was evidence that the New Year's version of “Three Heroes” for 10 days of festive rental paid off 12 times.
Since 2001, the studio has a special effects department, and recently, the Mill has been working on the manufacture of 3D products. This is the merit of the team, headed by Alexander Boyarsky. The filmography of the studio includes favorite fairy tales, epics, historical plots and just everyday sketches. And all this has recently brought international awards and profits.
