Due to the sharply increased number of cars and the increasing complexity of the situation on the roads, special lanes were allocated. Only public transport, no personal cars can move on them. For violation, fines are imposed. However, there are some loopholes in the law that allow such vehicles to drive along a designated lane on weekends.
Responsibility
According to the law (Art. 12.17 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), drivers who leave for a special lane are subject to the following penalties:
- A fine of 1,500 rubles is foreseen for the first misconduct. In the capitals, this amount is twice as much.
- The intersection of the strip and following it - 5 000 rubles.
- For repeated ignoring the rules, the driverโs license for a year is taken away.
If the misconduct was recorded by cameras or video cameras, the car owner is not deprived of the right, but he pays a full fine - 5,000 rubles.
Signs of highlighted strip
According to Russian legislation, this road section can be recognized by:
- Special signs that do not allow traffic here.
- Markup. Solid and broken lines are usually used, the letter โAโ is depicted.
Exclusion situations
Drivers of non-public transport may drive only a short period of time on designated lanes. For example, when leaving an adjacent area and intending to turn or disembark people from the passenger compartment. But this is allowed only in a situation where a dotted line encloses a strip. It is also important that the maneuver does not create any barriers to public transport (OT), including taxis.
There is an opinion among the people that the law does not prohibit riding in a designated lane on weekends.
In practice, this is a rather controversial statement. The intruder is still subject to measures of influence. On some road sections, automatic fixation devices are arranged for almost every 100-150 m. Without knowing the rules, the driver will drive in a designated lane on weekends, believing that he is acting within the law. However, in reality, he accumulates fines of 10,000-15,000 rubles.
In order not to be on the list of violators, you need to know the exception situations.
So, for example, to travel on a designated lane on weekends, the presence of the 5.14 sign is required in addition to the following signs:
- 8.5.2. Meaning: entry can only be made in the interval from the first to the fifth day of the week.
- 8.5.6. Identical interpretation. Only it is supplemented by a certain time period of the ban, usually it is from 8 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
- 8.5.3. Specific days are indicated when you cannot be in this lane, for example, from Monday to Wednesday.
- 8.5.7. Only a single day is reflected.
- 8.5.5. The criteria for car owners are identical. Only the ban is relevant on the weekend.
Intermittent Marking
Driving on a designated lane on weekends is allowed if there is a specified marking on its sections.
Usually it is present at intersections. This gives the driver the opportunity to maneuver into another street. And this action is impossible without movement in a special zone.
Need to turn right
It often occurs among motorists, while a special strip is an obstacle.
Clause 18.2 of the SDA states that the driver may complete this maneuver. It means only going to this lane, and not driving along it. Moreover, it should not interfere with OT.
Also, such a turn is permitted only in the presence of intermittent marking.
The situation when you need to let people out
Short-term traffic in the designated lane on weekends (and on weekdays) is allowed (according to paragraph 18.2 of the SDA) when the driver intends to stop and disembark passengers.
There should also be a broken line here. And this maneuver should not form barriers to OT.
With continuous marking, such rebuilding and stopping is prohibited.
Other nuances
Driving in a designated lane on weekends is permitted with certain signs and a dashed line. Also, movement is permitted on official holiday dates.
But the law also provides for some nuance: in some settlements Saturday is a working day. This usually applies to megacities. In this situation, it is forbidden to occupy a special band. Thanks to this traffic traffic is streamlined.
Usually a dedicated band is occupied on weekends, but already in the dark. The law does not provide guidelines for these aspects, namely the interval for such a movement. Usually drivers drive here from 23.00 to 07.00.
