"I am studying in the Liceum". Getting an education in an institution of this level has always been considered prestigious. Especially when it comes to the institution, which for several years has been included in the top 20 of the best schools in the capital. And the place in the ranking is well deserved, given the level of teaching, learning outcomes and additional opportunities for students. The renaming of the State Budget Educational Establishment “Lyceum 1501” into a school was by no means an occasion to lower the educational level.
How did the lyceum appear
The history of this educational institution began almost 30 years ago. In 1989, the Lyceum was founded at the Stankin Technical University. After ten years, the educational organization began to expand. In 1999, the technical lyceum No. 1501 and the lyceum 1550 merged under the auspices of the Moscow Automobile and Road Institute. After some time, the joint team was allocated another building. The new address for Lyceum No. 1501 was Tikhvin Lane.
In 2001, he became a member of the experimental site under the guidance of the famous teacher-researcher A.V. Leontovich. The aim of the work was to create an organizational model of educational and research activities of students.
Since 2005, the systematic cooperation of the lyceum with the N.E. Bauman State Technical University and the Medical-Dental University began.
Having become the winner of the competition in the framework of the national project “Education” in 2006, the lyceum took part in several more experimental sites (for the implementation of entrepreneurial programs and the formation of cognitive competencies in the use of educational and gaming equipment).
In 2012, after joining several other educational institutions to the Lyceum, he received the status of a multi-profile technical Lyceum No. 1501. A few years later, by order of the Department of Education, the name "school" was returned to all gymnasiums and lyceums in Moscow.

From the 5th grade, children can begin to get acquainted with the requirements of the European Language Commission.
The school is involved in several more projects: theater productions in conjunction with the German school at the embassy, reader and German song contests, teenage debates, Christmas markets. Reviews about the Lyceum No. 1501 concerning these areas of work indicate a great interest of students.
There are school exchange programs for grades 7–10 with the Waldorf school in Berlin, the Ferde gymnasium, and the school in Cologne.
Design and research activities
The research area of work has always been a priority for the lyceum. Participation in a number of experimental sites of relevant subjects allowed us to develop our own model for organizing research practice for schoolchildren.

Teachers of the Lyceum No. 1501 are of the opinion that design and research work is an indispensable element of specialized training. Systematic work in this direction begins from the 8th grade, and at the end of the tenth, each student chooses a research topic related to their future profession. Work is carried out during the year, in parallel with attending special courses. To develop research skills in the 11th grade curriculum, a discipline on the basics of project activity is provided. Among the scientific project managers there are a large number of university professors and practical scientists. The final presentation and protection of the results are held publicly, as part of the traditional conferences “Explore and Design” and “Step into the Future”. Conference materials are published in the collection, and the successful defense of the project, carried out under the guidance of a university teacher, becomes the basis for admission to the university based on the results of the interview.
